NEW TREASURE(ニュートレジャー)Stage3のProject発表を終えたあと、先生から英語で「Why?」「How do you know?」「What if?」 慶英会では、Project1(長期休暇)、Project2(健康情報)、Project3(人を動かす提案)と、Further Readingの社会的な題材を活用した独自口頭試問40問・全モデル回答を無料公開します。

Why?Because … / One reason is …
How do you know?According to … / We measured …
What if?We could … / If …, we would …
Are you sure?We have not confirmed … yet.

I don’t know yet. / We didn’t measure it.

Could you repeat the question, please?

I planned to read three long English novels during the break. After several days, I realized that my schedule was unrealistic. I chose a shorter book and read it for fifteen minutes every morning. I finished that book and wrote a short summary for each chapter. I cannot say that my overall English level improved, because I did not take the same test before and after the project. Next time I will set a more realistic goal.

  1. Q1. Why did you change your original plan?

Model: Because the three novels were too difficult for the time I had. I wanted a plan I could actually finish.

  2. Q2. What had you planned before the holiday?

Model: I had planned to read three long novels in English.

  3. Q3. How many minutes did you read each morning?

Model: I read for fifteen minutes each morning.

  4. Q4. What evidence shows that you completed your new goal?

Model: I finished the shorter book and wrote summaries of its chapters.

  5. Q5. Did your English test score improve?

Model: I don’t know. I did not take comparable tests before and after the project.

  6. Q6. What would you do differently next time?

Model: I would check the book’s level and make a weekly reading schedule first.

  7. Q7. Why not simply continue with the three novels?

Model: Continuing might have meant reading very little. A manageable goal helped me practise regularly.

  8. Q8. How can another student try your idea?

Model: They could choose one suitable book and review a short passage every day.

  9. Q9. What was the most difficult part?

Model: Understanding unfamiliar expressions while keeping track of the story.

  10. Q10. Summarize your biggest lesson in one sentence.

Model: A realistic plan that I can review is more useful to me than an ambitious plan I cannot follow.

Our fictional class surveyed forty students about whether they preferred printed or digital school wellbeing notices. Twenty-four chose printed information, and sixteen chose digital information. We did not ask about medical conditions or measure health outcomes. We suggested offering both forms when practical. Our goal was to make general information easier to access, not to give medical advice.

  1. Q11. How many students answered the survey?

Model: Forty students answered the survey.

  2. Q12. What percentage preferred printed notices?

Model: Twenty-four out of forty is sixty percent.

  3. Q13. What percentage preferred digital notices?

Model: Sixteen out of forty is forty percent.

  4. Q14. Does your survey show that printed notices improve health?

Model: No. It measured preferences, not health outcomes.

  5. Q15. Why did you suggest offering both formats?

Model: Different students may have different access needs and preferences.

  6. Q16. Where would you check a new health-related claim?

Model: I would check its author, date, and a current authoritative source such as WHO.

  7. Q17. Why didn’t you ask for personal medical information?

Model: We did not need private medical details to study communication preferences.

  8. Q18. What is a limitation of your survey?

Model: The sample was small and may not represent the whole school.

  9. Q19. Can you tell a classmate what treatment to use?

Model: No. This project is about information literacy, not individual medical advice.

  10. Q20. How would you make the next survey more useful?

Model: I would test whether students understand each notice and include more varied respondents.

I want our next school festival to offer several ways for students to contribute. Some may enjoy performing, while others may prefer welcoming guests, preparing directions, or designing signs. I am not asking the school to remove specialized activities. I propose surveying students, checking costs and accessibility, and trying a short plan before making permanent changes. We should report feedback without claiming that everybody liked it.

  1. Q21. What is the main claim of your speech?

Model: The school festival should offer different ways for students to contribute.

  2. Q22. Who is your intended audience?

Model: Students and the people who organize the festival.

  3. Q23. Why might students need different roles?

Model: They may have different interests, skills, and practical needs.

  4. Q24. Are you suggesting that stage performances should stop?

Model: No. I want to keep them while adding other opportunities.

  5. Q25. How would you learn what students need?

Model: We could ask them through a voluntary survey and listen to different groups.

  6. Q26. What if organizers say your plan takes too much time?

Model: We could begin with a small trial and evaluate whether the extra options are practical.

  7. Q27. Can you promise everyone will enjoy the festival?

Model: No. I can propose more choices, but I cannot guarantee everyone’s experience.

  8. Q28. What evidence would support your proposal?

Model: Feedback about access barriers and which roles students actually choose could help.

  9. Q29. What action do you want the audience to take?

Model: Please help us test a list of roles and share practical feedback.

  10. Q30. How would you respond to someone who disagrees?

Model: I would ask about their concern and explain how a short trial could address it.

Our group read that the Grameen Bank project began in 1976 and became an independent bank in 1983. Grameen Bank and Muhammad Yunus received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006. Microcredit can provide access to small loans, but a loan normally must be repaid. We are studying historical information and the careful interpretation of claims, not giving advice about taking a loan.

  1. Q31. What began in 1976?

Model: The Grameen Bank pilot project began in 1976.

  2. Q32. What happened in 1983?

Model: The project became an independent bank.

  3. Q33. Who received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006?

Model: Grameen Bank and Muhammad Yunus.

  4. Q34. What does microcredit mean?

Model: It refers to relatively small loans, often for people with limited access to conventional banking.

  5. Q35. Is a loan the same as a gift?

Model: No. A loan usually comes with a repayment obligation.

  6. Q36. Does a Nobel Prize prove that every borrower succeeds?

Model: No. The award is a fact, but the outcome of every loan would require different evidence.

  7. Q37. What should be checked before accepting a loan?

Model: Repayment amounts, due dates, costs, and risks should be understood.

  8. Q38. Why did you include this limitation in your speech?

Model: I wanted to avoid claiming more than our sources could establish.

  9. Q39. Which sources did your project use?

Model: We referred to Grameen Bank’s official history and the Nobel Prize website.

  10. Q40. What is the main lesson of your presentation?

Model: A historical initiative can be important without being a guaranteed solution to every economic problem.

Q. I don’t know.
