  • Restate the Thesis:
  • Synthesize Evidence:
  • Acknowledge Limitations:
  • Implication / Next Step:

Fictional essay brief and body evidence: Fictional essay question: Should a school consider longer Friday study-room hours? The body has established that 20 of 24 seats were occupied at 4 p.m. on one day. It has also explained that daily demand, waiting times, staff availability and safe departure procedures were not assessed. The essay’s argument supports considering a short supervised trial, not immediate permanent opening.

問1:Restate the thesis without copying the introductory wording.

問2:Select the strongest reported evidence for the conclusion.

問3:Which limitation must the conclusion preserve?

問4:Does the brief justify ‘Every student needs longer hours’?

問5:Should the conclusion introduce a claim that exam scores rose by 30 percent?

問6:Write a sentence synthesising evidence and uncertainty.

問7:Give a conditional next step.

問8:What should be checked during such a trial?

問9:Write an effective final sentence without guaranteeing success.

問10:Write an 80–110-word conclusion paragraph using no new evidence.

Fictional essay brief and body evidence: Fictional essay question: Should a school remove printed notices immediately? The body described a voluntary survey with 40 respondents: 26 favoured digital notices and 14 preferred paper. It also discussed unknown preferences of nonrespondents and a lack of information about internet access. The writer’s position was to retain an accessible printed option until the conditions for digital access could be reviewed.

問11:Restate the position in a new sentence.

問12:Summarise the numerical evidence.

問13:What percentage of respondents chose digital notices?

問14:Does that show 65 percent of all students prefer digital notices?

問15:Name the crucial missing evidence.

問16:Reject an unsupported conclusion: ‘Paper notices are now useless’.

問17:Write a sentence balancing the majority and minority findings.

問18:Suggest a realistic next action.

問19:Write a final sentence that does not introduce new statistics.

問20:Write an 80–110-word conclusion.

Fictional essay brief and body evidence: Fictional essay question: Should an optional reading club become a permanent weekly activity? The body noted two lunchtime sessions with 10 and 15 recorded attendances. Because a person could attend both sessions, the counts did not represent different students. No reading scores, satisfaction measures, room-availability assessment or staffing workload data were available. The argument favoured a longer limited trial before permanent scheduling.

問21:State the main conclusion without declaring permanent success.

問22:Identify the observed numbers that belong in the conclusion.

問23:How many more recorded attendances did the second session have?

問24:Does the increase establish a rise in reading ability?

問25:What makes the total number of unique participants unknown?

問26:Which practical condition should not be omitted?

問27:Improve ‘The club will definitely make everyone fluent’.

問28:Suggest one next step supported by the body.

問29:Write an appropriate final sentence.

問30:Write an 80–110-word conclusion paragraph.

Fictional essay brief and body evidence: Fictional essay question: Did new recycling signs alone reduce sorting errors? The body recorded 24 incorrectly sorted items out of 80 before the change and 16 of 80 afterward. It calculated a decrease in observed error rate from 30 to 20 percent. Verbal reminders were introduced during the same period, and the two inspections were conducted on different days. No controlled comparison isolated the effect of the signs.

問31:Restate the qualified main conclusion.

問32:Identify the main quantitative evidence.

問33:What change occurred in percentage points?

問34:Is it correct to call this a relative decrease of 10 percent?

問35:What other intervention appeared between the inspections?

問36:Could the conclusion claim that every student now sorts correctly?

問37:Write a sentence linking the evidence and its limitation.

問38:Suggest one reasonable additional check.

問39:Compose a final sentence without claiming universal success.

問40:Write an 80–110-word conclusion.

1:A supervised pilot could be a sensible next step before the school changes regular hours.

2:The one-time observation recorded 20 occupied seats out of 24.

3:Daily demand and the staffing and safety requirements are still unknown.

4:No. A single seat observation cannot establish the needs of every student.

5:No. The essay body supplied no examination-score evidence.

6:The observed seat use suggests that a trial is worth exploring, although longer-term demand is unmeasured.

7:The school could test Friday hours if it can arrange staff supervision and safe departures.

8:The school should record repeat seat use, waiting times and the resources needed to operate.

9:A small trial would provide a better basis for deciding whether longer hours are practical.

10:In conclusion, a supervised trial of longer study-room hours could be a reasonable option, but permanent expansion would be premature. The observation that 20 of 24 seats were occupied at one point suggests that the room was well used then, yet it tells us little about daily demand. Staffing costs, waiting times and safe departure procedures also remain unmeasured. The school should therefore examine whether a limited Friday trial can be operated safely and use its records to inform a later decision. This cautious approach would test the proposal without treating one observation as proof of a permanent need.

11:An online-only notice system should not be adopted until access needs have been assessed.

12:Twenty-six of forty respondents chose digital notices, while fourteen chose paper.

13:Sixty-five percent of respondents chose the digital option.

14:No. The survey was voluntary and covered only the respondents.

15:The school did not measure whether all students could reliably access online notices.

16:Paper notices may still be important for students who cannot easily access the digital format.

17:Digital notices appealed to most respondents, but a substantial minority still preferred printed information.

18:The school should assess access and cost before changing its communication system.

19:Maintaining more than one accessible route for information is a prudent approach until those questions are answered.

20:Overall, digital notices may be convenient for many students, but the available survey does not justify removing paper immediately. Among forty respondents, twenty-six favoured the online format while fourteen preferred printed information. Because participation was voluntary and access to reliable internet was not assessed, the results do not establish what would work for everyone. The school should review students’ access needs and the practical costs of each method before making a final change. Until then, retaining an accessible printed option alongside digital messages would better reflect both the evidence and the unresolved questions.

21:A longer trial is preferable to immediate permanent weekly sessions.

22:The two sessions recorded ten and fifteen attendances.

23:It recorded five more attendances.

24:No. Reading ability was not measured.

25:The same students may have attended more than once.
解説:attendance events ≠ unique people。

解26:Regular operation would depend on room availability and manageable staff workload.

27:The trial provides participation records but no evidence of an improvement in language proficiency.

28:Another voluntary trial could measure repeat participation and gather student feedback.

29:A decision about permanent sessions should follow evidence about both participation and feasibility.

30:The recorded participation in two optional English reading sessions provides a reason to investigate the activity further, not proof that weekly sessions should become permanent. Attendance rose from ten to fifteen records, but repeat participation means that the number of different students remains unknown. The school also did not measure reading progress, student satisfaction, available space or staff workload. A longer voluntary trial could collect those missing details while preserving normal lessons. The school could then decide whether regular meetings are useful and manageable. For now, a careful evaluation is better supported than a promise of improved English ability.

31:The school observed fewer sorting errors but cannot isolate the effect of the signs alone.

32:Incorrectly sorted items fell from twenty-four of eighty to sixteen of eighty.

33:The observed error rate fell by ten percentage points.

34:No. The relative decrease in the rate is approximately 33.3 percent.

35:Students received verbal reminders.

36:No. Sixteen incorrect items were still recorded afterward.

37:The recorded reduction is clear, but the data do not show whether signs or reminders caused it.

38:The school could repeat the inspection under comparable conditions with other reminders kept constant.

39:Further checks are needed before attributing the improvement to any single measure.

40:In summary, the school recorded fewer sorting errors after new signs were introduced, but the result does not prove that the signs alone caused the change. In two inspections of eighty items each, the number placed in the wrong bins fell from twenty-four to sixteen, equivalent to a decline from 30 to 20 percent. However, verbal reminders were also introduced, and the inspections occurred on different days. These factors make a causal explanation uncertain. The school should use the observed reduction as a reason for further evaluation, not as evidence that one intervention has completely solved the problem.

A. いいえ。

A. いいえ。
