A coastal town began lending portable audio guides to people visiting its historic streets. The guides explained old buildings in several languages, and the town hoped they would help tourists learn about local history.

During the first month, the guides were requested 180 times. Of these requests, 130 resulted in actual loans. Thirty were canceled, and twenty people remained on a waiting list because all devices had been reserved. The town recorded each category separately rather than treating every request as a completed loan.

The town later improved its booking website and purchased ten additional devices. More guides were borrowed during the second month. However, officials did not claim that visitors had learned more history simply because borrowing increased. They planned to ask short questions after each tour and compare visitors’ answers.

Staff also checked the devices when they were returned, because damaged equipment could not always be used safely by the next visitor.

Some towns offer free lessons that teach residents how to identify possible problems with household appliances. Participants learn to read safety labels, check recall notices, and recognize repairs that require professional help. These lessons may prevent accidents and unnecessary expenses.

However, the courses need trained instructors and suitable equipment, and learners have different levels of technical experience. To address these issues, community centers provide clear printed guides, demonstrate only safe checks, and offer individual assistance.

モデル答案(29語):Towns teach appliance safety to help residents avoid accidents and extra expenses. However, instructors and suitable equipment are needed, so centers provide printed instructions, safe demonstrations, and individual support.

QUESTION:Do you think schools should teach students how to check information found online?

モデル答案(59語):I think schools should teach students to check online information. First, students can write more accurate reports by comparing claims with reliable sources. This may also reduce the spread of false information. Second, learning to identify official websites can help students protect personal information. Schools should provide updated examples and practical exercises, because these skills are useful outside school.
