A city opened a small bicycle repair station near its main train station. Residents can use basic tools there for free on weekdays. On weekends, volunteers teach simple repair skills. The city expected about 100 visitors each month. During the first three months, the station recorded 80, 115, and 125 visits. However, these numbers represent visits, not unique people: some residents came several times. A local report said the station might help people keep their bicycles longer, but it did not track how many bicycles were saved from being thrown away. The city plans to collect more information before deciding whether to open a second station.

Some towns are adding small community gardens near apartment buildings. Residents can grow vegetables together, and children can learn where food comes from. Supporters say the gardens also give neighbors opportunities to talk and work together. However, gardens require regular care, especially during hot weather. If volunteers are busy, plants may die. A town that started a garden last year now asks each participating family to care for the plants on certain days. The town hopes this schedule will help the project continue, but it has not yet collected enough data to judge the long-term results.

QUESTION(慶英会独自題材):Do you think schools should lend portable chargers to students?

模範答案(54語):I think schools should lend portable chargers to students. First, students sometimes need their devices for homework or emergency messages, and borrowing a charger helps them finish important tasks. Second, a shared service could reduce the need for each student to buy extra equipment. However, schools should set clear rules to prevent lost chargers.
