People in Lake Town often travel by bus because there is only one train station. Last year, many residents complained that Sunday morning buses were too infrequent. Families sometimes had to wait almost an hour to reach the sports center or the market.
The town asked residents to complete a survey. Most people preferred an extra bus between nine and eleven. The local bus company tested a new schedule for eight weeks. Instead of buying another vehicle, it moved a bus that was rarely used on weekday afternoons to the Sunday service.

Students at North River School found that many pieces of fruit were left uneaten after lunch. They wondered whether students disliked the fruit or simply received more than they wanted. Their teacher helped them test a new method.
For one week, the cafeteria gave everyone the usual amount. During the second week, students could choose between a small and a regular portion. The menu and prices stayed the same. Each afternoon, the class measured the weight of fruit thrown away. Less fruit was wasted during the second week, and most students said they were satisfied.
