結論：否定が聞こえたら①どの動作が否定されているか、②禁止なのか不要なのか、③予定変更の前後どちらか、④否定の後に続く新しい情報はないかを確認します。notやdon’tだけを拾って全体が否定されたと決めつけないことが重要です。

否定の聞き落としと、変更後の予定を混同しない
英検3級の会話でnot yet / won’t / can’tなどを聞き落とすと、まだ確定していない予定を確定したと誤解することがあります。提案と最終決定を区別する独自8会話40課題と組み合わせて練習してください。
否定・予定の独自3問
A: Did you book the museum tour? B: Not yet. I’ll call tomorrow. A: Then the visit isn’t confirmed.
- 予約はすでに完了した？ No.。Not yetはまだ
- Bが明日することは？ Call the museum.。これからの予定
- 見学は確定している？ No.。isn’t confirmed
英検協会のListening第2部は4択・2回放送です。本例は慶英会の独自教材です。
don’t have toとmustn’tは逆の意味になる？
don’t have to：しなくてもよい
You don’t have to bring paper.は「紙を持ってくる必要がない」です。紙を持ってきてはいけないとまでは言っていません。mustn’t bring paper（持ってきてはいけない）とは異なります。
mustn’t：してはいけない
Students mustn’t enter without a teacher.は、先生がいない状態での入室禁止です。単に入る必要がないのではなく、禁止の条件です。
not yet：まだ完成していない
I haven’t finished yet.は現在までに完成していないという意味。今後仕上げる予定があれば、I will finish tomorrow.のような続きも聞いて判断します。
can’tとcouldn’t：できない・できなかった
I can’t come on Sunday, but I can come on Friday.は日曜には無理だが金曜は可能という意味です。I couldn’t hear the question, but I could understand it after repetition.も前後の状況が違います。
not everyone：全員が〜というわけではない
Not everyone joined the event.は、全員が参加したのではない、という部分否定です。No one joined.（誰も参加しなかった）と混同しないようにしましょう。
リスニングで否定が出たら4点を確認
- 1．否定がかかる動詞：bring／enter／finish／come／hearなど何を否定するか
- 2．程度：禁止・不要・未完成・不可能・一部否定のどれか
- 3．対比：but／instead／nowの後に新しい情報があるか
- 4．質問への対応：何が不要か・いつ参加できるか・何が変更されたかを絞り込む
否定の語だけ暗記しても、どの曜日・人・作業についての話かを聞き落とすと答えられません。慶英会の演習では同じ会話に肯定と否定の情報を置き、両方を確認できるようにしています。

FAQ｜英検3級リスニングの否定文
don’t have toはmustn’tと同じですか？
同じではありません。don’t have toは義務がない、mustn’tはしてはいけないという禁止です。
not everyoneはno oneの意味ですか？
いいえ。not everyoneは全員というわけではない、no oneは誰も〜ないという意味です。
英検3級で否定の聞き取り問題が必ず出ますか？
特定表現の出題を保証できません。学校・買い物・趣味などの会話を理解するために、否定と肯定の両方を判断する練習です。

Listeningの否定が聞き取れるようになったら、同じ状況を短い英文で書けるか確認します。not yetとstill haven’tはどちらも未完了ですが、後者は未完了が続いていることを強く示す場合があります。次の慶英会独自4題を解きましょう。
例1：A: Has the bus arrived? B: Not yet. → バスは未到着。例2：The bus still hasn’t arrived. → まだ到着しておらず待っている状況。
例3：I don’t have to finish the poster today. → 今日終える必要はない。例4：You mustn’t take photos during the exam. → 試験中の写真撮影は禁止。必要がないことと禁止を混同しない。
