|---|---|---|
| 調査の目的 | We wanted to find out whether … |
| 出典を示す | According to the information we collected, … |
| 数値を示す | Sixteen out of thirty people said … |
| 比較する | Compared with A, B … |
| 根拠から提案する | Based on these results, we suggest … |
| 限界を説明する | However, our survey included only …
We asked ten people.、Three people chose this idea.、We suggest making a map.
2:because、however、compared with、based on

English
A group of students wanted to learn how a small bakery could make its information easier for new customers to understand. They did not ask every person in the town. Instead, they asked 40 people who visited a community event. Eighteen people said that a simple map would help them find the bakery. Twelve wanted to know the opening hours before visiting. Six asked for clearer information about ingredients, and four gave other answers. The students put the results in a table. They suggested making a map with the opening hours beside it. However, they wrote that the survey showed the opinions of 40 event visitors, not all people in the town. Before giving the map to the bakery, they planned to ask five people who had never visited the shop to try using it.
| Answer | People | Percent |
|---|---|---|
| A simple map | 18 | 45% |
| Opening hours | 12 | 30% |
| Ingredient information | 6 | 15% |
| Other answers | 4 | 10% |
| Total | 40 | 100% |
- What did the students want to learn about the bakery?
- How many people answered the survey?
- Which answer was the most common?
- How many people wanted to know the opening hours?
- What percent of the people asked for ingredient information?
- How many more people wanted a map than ingredient information?
- How many people chose a map or opening hours?
- What fraction of the 40 people chose opening hours? Give the simplest fraction.
- Why did the students not claim that all people in the town wanted a map?
- What did the students plan to do before giving the map to the bakery?
- Choose the best title: (A) A Survey About a Bakery (B) A New School Building (C) A Sports Competition
- Write one English sentence comparing the map and opening-hours answers.
English
For a class project, Riku and Hana read public information about two fictional bicycle repair shops. Kita Cycle Repair reused some safe parts when customers agreed, while Mure Bike Service offered a short lesson on checking bicycle tires. The students wanted to know which idea could help people reduce waste and use bicycles safely. They did not decide that one shop was better in every way. Instead, they made two questions: How can a shop reuse materials safely? How can a shop help customers learn basic checks? They found that the shops had different goals, so a fair comparison needed clear criteria. The students planned to explain the two examples and then ask local residents which kind of support would be useful. They also wrote that the shop names and details in their English practice passage were fictional, not real research about local businesses.
| Fictional shop | Example of support | Question to consider |
|---|---|---|
| Kita Cycle Repair | Reuses safe parts with customer agreement | How are safety and permission checked? |
| Mure Bike Service | Offers a short tire-check lesson | Can customers repeat the steps correctly? |
- What were Riku and Hana researching?
- What did Kita Cycle Repair do in the passage?
- What did Mure Bike Service offer?
- Why did the students avoid saying that one shop was better in every way?
- What does “They” refer to in “They made two questions”?
- Which question is connected with safety and permission?
- Which question is connected with learning a practical skill?
- True or false: The students proved that reusing parts is always better than teaching customers.
- What did the students plan to ask local residents?
- Why should a fair comparison use clear criteria?
- Choose the best title: (A) Two Different Ways to Help Bicycle Users (B) A History of Trains (C) How to Bake Bread
- Write one English sentence comparing the two fictional shops.
English
A student team wanted to help visitors find a small market near a station. They asked 30 students what information would make the market easier to visit. Fifteen chose a clearer map, nine chose opening-hour information, and six chose English labels for important places. The team decided to test a simple map with opening hours and three English labels. They showed it to ten people who had not visited the market before. Eight people found the market without asking for directions. The team explained that this was only a first test. The ten people were not a large or random sample, and the results did not prove that every visitor would use the map. The students asked two people to explain what was clear and what was confusing. They planned to correct the map and test it with another group before suggesting that the market use it.
| Information requested | Students | Percent |
|---|---|---|
| A clearer map | 15 | 50% |
| Opening hours | 9 | 30% |
| English labels | 6 | 20% |
| Total | 30 | 100% |
- What did the student team want to help visitors do?
- How many students answered the survey?
- Which information was requested most often?
- What percent of the students chose a clearer map?
- How many students chose English labels?
- How many fewer students chose opening hours than a clearer map?
- How many of the ten test users found the market without asking directions?
- What percent of the ten test users found the market without asking directions?
- What did the first test suggest, and what did it not prove?
- Why did the students ask two people what was clear or confusing?
- Choose the best title: (A) A Small Map Test for a Local Market (B) A Famous Football Team (C) A New Bicycle Factory
- Write one English sentence suggesting the next step for the team.
Passage A|1〜12の解答
- How to make the bakery’s information easier for new customers to understand.
- Forty people.
- A simple map. 18
- Twelve people.
- Fifteen percent. 6÷40×100=15%です。
- Twelve more people.
- Thirty people.
- Three tenths (3/10). 12/40
- Because the survey included only 40 people at a community event, not everyone in the town.
- They planned to ask five people who had never visited the shop to try the map.
- (A) A Survey About a Bakery.
- Example: Eighteen people wanted a simple map, while twelve wanted to know the opening hours.
Passage B|
Passage B|13〜24の解答
- Two fictional bicycle repair shops and the ways they support customers. 2
- It reused some safe parts when customers agreed.
- A short lesson on checking bicycle tires.
- Because the shops had different goals and needed to be compared using clear criteria.
- Riku and Hana / the students.
- How can a shop reuse materials safely?
- How can a shop help customers learn basic checks?
- False.
- Which kind of support would be useful to them.
- Because the two shops offer different kinds of support, so the same criteria are needed for a fair comparison.
- (A) Two Different Ways to Help Bicycle Users.
- Example: Kita Cycle Repair reuses safe parts, while Mure Bike Service teaches customers how to check tires.
Passage C|
Passage C|25〜36の解答
- They wanted to help visitors find a small market near a station.
- Thirty students.
- A clearer map. 15
- Fifty percent. 15÷30×100=50%です。
- Six students.
- Six fewer students.
- Eight people.
- Eighty percent. 8÷10×100=80%です。
- It suggested that the map might help the ten test users, but it did not prove that every visitor would use it.
- To find out which parts of the map were clear or confusing and improve it.
- (A) A Small Map Test for a Local Market.
- Example: The team should correct the map and test it with another group before recommending it to the market.
