5つの動詞の型を一度に比較
- let：My father let me use his computer. → let＋人＋原形。
- help：She helped me carry / to carry the bag. → 両方自然。
- want：I want him to study. → want＋人＋to。
- ask：The teacher asked us to sit down. → ask＋人＋to。
- tell：She told me not to run. → tell＋人＋not to。
didn’t ask me toとasked me not toを混同しない
She didn’t ask me to help. は『手伝うよう頼まなかった』、She asked me not to help. は『手伝わないよう頼んだ』という意味です。否定を動詞askにかけるのか、依頼内容のhelpにかけるのかで意味が変わります。
helpにはtoがあってもよい
help me carryとhelp me to carryはどちらも自然です。let me to useは通常誤りですが、help me to carryまで誤りと決めるのは不正確です。教科書の演習条件と一般的な英語の許容表現を区別してください。
