結論｜英語授業の指示は「行動・条件・期限・禁止」を探す

Action: Underline two sentences.（2つの英文に下線を引く）。Condition: Use no more than thirty words.（30語以内）。Deadline: Submit before 9:30.（9時30分より前に提出）。Prohibition: Do not use a dictionary.（辞書を使わない）。英語の指示に数量・条件があれば、答えの内容が正しくても指示を外すと得点が伸びません。

at leastは「最低でも」、no more thanは「〜以下」、beforeは「より前」、byは「その時刻までに」です。先生の指示が変更された場合は、以前の紙に書かれた内容より正式な更新を確認しましょう。

Fictional Classroom Instructions — English Reading, Monday. Teacher: ‘Read the short passage silently for three minutes. Do not use a dictionary during the first reading. Underline two sentences that support the main idea. Then work with a partner for four minutes and compare your evidence. If you disagree, show the exact sentence that supports your answer. Write a summary of no more than thirty words after the discussion. You must submit the summary before the bell rings at 9:30 a.m. A student who finishes early may review the word list but must not interrupt classmates. The teacher will explain unfamiliar words after collecting the summaries.’ These are invented instructions, not an actual school’s lesson.

Fictional Classroom Instructions — Science Presentation, Tuesday. Teacher: ‘Each group has eight minutes to prepare two slides. The first slide should explain what you measured, and the second should show the results. Check that every number has a unit, such as centimeters or seconds. If you did not measure a condition, do not invent a result. One speaker will give a ninety-second explanation, and another member will answer one audience question. Your group may use a paper note card but should not read a complete script word for word. Please upload the slides by 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The presentation will take place on Wednesday, not Tuesday.’ This is an original fictional classroom scenario.

Fictional Writing Lesson Instructions — Thursday. Teacher: ‘First, read the comments on your five English sentences. Correct the verb forms in Sentences 1 and 2, and check the missing information in Sentence 3. Sentences 4 and 5 do not need changes. Do not copy the model answers without understanding the reasons. Next, write two new sentences using different subjects. After that, exchange notebooks with a partner and check the time expressions. You have fifteen minutes for all these tasks. On Friday, you will write three different sentences without notes. Your Thursday corrections are for practice and will not count as a formal retest.’ This lesson is fictional.

Fictional Classroom Instructions — Group Discussion, Friday. Teacher: ‘There are four students in each group. Choose one chairperson, one timekeeper, one note-taker and one reporter. Everyone should speak at least once, but do not interrupt another speaker. The topic is whether our fictional class should hold a book exchange. Discuss one advantage and one concern. You have six minutes to discuss and two minutes to prepare a short report. The reporter should explain the group’s ideas, not claim that everyone agreed if there was disagreement. A final class decision has not been made. Write down any question you cannot answer instead of making up a fact.’ These rules are imaginary practice instructions.
