結論｜勉強した量と、できるようになったことは同じではない
I planned to write fifteen sentences.（15文書く予定でした）。I wrote twelve.（12文書きました）。I haven’t finished the last three yet.（残り3文はまだ終わっていません）。I will try them tomorrow.（明日挑戦します）。この4文は、計画→実績→未完→次の行動が明確です。
計画と実施の違いは数値でも確認します。15題予定して12題実施なら未実施は3題ですが、「12題解いた」だけでは12題を完全に理解したとは言えません。英作文・長文読解・スピーチの各資料では、単なる作業量と学習理解度の確認を分けて記述します。

英文の学習記録
On Monday, I planned to write fifteen example sentences using the new vocabulary. I finished twelve before dinner, but I did not write the last three. On Tuesday, I read those twelve sentences aloud and checked the verb forms again. I have not tried the ten new sentences scheduled for Wednesday yet. Completing a sentence once does not always mean that I can remember it a week later. I will test myself with the twelve sentences on Friday, and I will try the three unfinished sentences before that test. I want to find out which words I can use without looking at my notes.

英文の学習記録
I started reading an original four-paragraph English passage on Monday. I had planned to finish it that day, but I read only the first two paragraphs. On Tuesday, I read the remaining two and wrote a one-sentence summary. On Thursday, I answered eight new questions about the passage and got six correct. I made mistakes about a time expression and a pronoun. I have not checked whether I can answer those two questions correctly again without notes. I will do that on Saturday and explain the evidence in the passage. I should not say that I fully understand the text just because I finished reading it once.

英文の学習記録
I finished ten original English writing tasks on Monday. Seven answers included all the information required by the questions, but three missed a condition such as a time or a number. On Wednesday, I corrected those three answers after reading the explanations. On Friday, I tried five different sentences without copying the model answers. Four met the conditions, and one still needed revision. This is progress, but the new test was short, so I cannot conclude that all my writing problems are solved. Next Monday, I will try a new set of questions without notes and check each instruction before writing.

実際の学習で使える4行の英文記録
My goal: Write ten sentences with relative pronouns. What I did: I wrote eight sentences on Monday. What remains: I still need to write two more and check the word order. Next step: I will write five new sentences without looking at my notes on Wednesday. と並べると、短い英語でも学習内容を正しく振り返られます。
記録してよい数字は、実際に確かめたものだけです。「今週勉強した時間」と「理解した単元数」を混同せず、選択問題を復習しただけで初見の英作文が書けると決めつけないことが重要です。
7日間の練習手順
1〜4日目は1日1資料を解き、未実施・正解数・次の計画を確認します。5日目に4つの表からplannedとcompletedの差を計算し、英語で各1文にします。6日目は自分の実際の学習記録を事実だけで4行に整理、7日目は前の答案を見ずに新問を解き、計画したことが実際にできるようになったかを確認します。
よくある質問
I have finishedとI finishedはどちらを使いますか？
過去の特定の日・時刻を明示する場合はI finished it on Monday.のように過去形が自然です。今の完了状態を述べる場合はI have finished it.も使えます。文脈と時の表現を合わせて選んでください。
学習した時間だけを記録してもよいですか？
時間を記録することにも意味はありますが、英語力の定着を確認するには、何問正答したか、どの種類の誤りが残ったか、初見の問題でも書けるかなどを分けて記録することを勧めます。
予定が終わらなかったらどう書きますか？
I planned to …, but I only … . と正確に書きます。失敗を隠したり、未完了の課題を完了と書いたりする必要はありません。次に何を行うかを加えると実用的な記録になります。
