Assess the risk before opening the room.(部屋を開ける前に危険を評価して)。 Evaluate whether the program is effective.(企画が有効か評価して)。

Review the original records.(元の記録を確認・見直して)。 Do not judge the result by one observation.(一回の観察だけで結果を判断しないで)。

A city library tested a new map to make its rooms easier to find. Staff first reviewed old visitor comments and identified complaints about unclear directions. They then invited twenty volunteers to evaluate the revised signs. Sixteen found the correct rooms without help, but four were confused by the arrow near the lift. The library assessed whether the route was safe for people with different mobility needs. One worker suggested that the first results proved the map would be suitable for everyone. However, the librarian explained that a small trial was not enough to judge how all visitors would respond. The designers changed the arrow and planned a second test. Officials approved additional testing, not the immediate replacement of every sign. The library would review the new feedback before deciding whether to publish the final map.

D. Further testing

A school science club wanted to assess electricity use in two classrooms. Students recorded the number of people present, the times lights were switched on, and the room temperatures. They reviewed the records after one month and noticed that the first room used more electricity on some afternoons. One student judged the old lights to be the cause without checking other conditions. The teacher explained that the first room also had more visitors and different equipment. The club decided to evaluate several possible explanations and repeat the measurements with similar conditions. It did not want to judge the success of a proposed energy-saving plan from one short observation. The school had approved another month of data collection but had not approved buying new lighting equipment. Students prepared a report separating measurements from explanations that were not yet confirmed.

問29|What did students record?

A museum developed audio descriptions for an exhibition about local history. Before publishing them, the curator reviewed the scripts to check dates and names. The museum invited visitors to evaluate whether the descriptions were easy to understand. Twelve people tested the first version, and nine said the explanations were clear. Three reported that the speaking speed was too fast. Staff assessed whether slower audio would make the service more accessible and prepared a second recording. They did not judge the program to be completely successful after the first trial. The curator also reminded volunteers that having a recording did not mean the museum had permission to share every historical photograph connected with it. The team would review publication rights separately and gather feedback from a wider group before announcing a final release date.

問33|How many visitors tested the first version?

A. Twelve / B. Nine / C. Three / D. Twenty-one

A. Twelve

D. Permission to publish historical images

A community center offered a free weekend study room and wanted to evaluate whether it was useful. Eighty people made reservations in the first month, but only sixty-five visits were recorded. The manager reviewed the booking records and found that some students had reserved more than once. The center explained that visits were not the same as unique users and that the number of people helped could not be judged by reservations alone. Staff also assessed whether the room had enough trained helpers to remain open safely. Some participants requested longer hours, but the manager said the center would need additional evidence about costs and attendance. The town approved two more weeks of testing, not permanent daily opening. After the trial, the team would review the records and decide what changes were justified.

問37|How many visits were recorded?

A. Sixty-five / B. Eighty / C. Fifteen / D. One hundred forty-five

A. Sixty-five

assess risk(危険を評価する)、evaluate a program(計画の有効性を調べる)、review records(記録を見直す)、judge by evidence(証拠で判断する)の典型的な使い方を確認します。
