Alert=警報、Observed condition=実際の確認、Decision=閉鎖・試行・調査等の承認、Uncertainty=まだ分からない情報。例えばa sensor alerted staffは事実でも、every path was floodedとは限りません。Staff temporarily closed a short sectionも施設全体の閉鎖とは異なります。
A town installed water-level sensors beside a riverside walking path. When readings rose unusually quickly during heavy rain, the system sent an alert to park staff. Some residents assumed that every alert meant the path was already flooded. The park explained that an alert showed a condition requiring attention, not proof that flooding had occurred at every location. Staff checked the path and temporarily closed a short section where water had reached the lowest steps. The rest of the park remained open under the town’s fictional trial procedures. Engineers planned to compare sensor records with field inspections before adjusting the alert settings. The manager said that the system could help staff respond more quickly, but it could not replace direct checks of the path. The town did not claim that the sensors could predict every possible flood.
Q1. What did the sensors directly provide?
A. A confirmed report that every path was flooded
B. An alert about a rapid rise in water level
C. A list of all people in the park
D. A guarantee that no flooding would occur
Q2. Why was part of the path closed?
A. The entire river had permanently changed course
B. All sensors had stopped working
C. An inspection found water at the lowest steps
D. All visitors had left the park

A district reviewed the accessibility of public buildings that might be used as temporary emergency shelters. During the survey, volunteers measured entrance widths and recorded whether step-free routes were available. One building had a large meeting room but a narrow entrance, while another had an easier entrance and fewer places to sit. Some officials initially suggested selecting the building with the larger room. An accessibility adviser warned that capacity alone was not enough to decide whether a shelter could meet different residents’ needs. The district decided to review toilets, communication methods, staffing, and available routes before making a final designation. A temporary information sheet listed possible buildings but did not say that all of them had been officially approved as shelters. The coordinator planned to consult people who used mobility aids before choosing the final arrangements.
Q6. What problem did the adviser identify with choosing the largest room?
A. The district had already selected all buildings
B. The larger room could not contain chairs
C. Capacity alone would not establish accessibility
D. Only the exterior color mattered
Q7. What does the temporary information sheet show?
A. A list of possible buildings, not final approval of all of them
B. A guarantee that every site is ready
C. A permanent ban on the second building
D. The price of a private hotel

A community nature center installed smoke sensors near a storage area after several small outdoor fires had been reported in the wider region. During a practice session, one sensor produced an alert. Some visitors thought this proved there was a major fire nearby. Staff inspected the area and found that the alarm had been triggered during a controlled test. The center explained that the alert by itself did not establish the existence or size of a fire. It also emphasized that real emergency decisions should be based on official local instructions and verified conditions, not guesses from a single device. The manager planned to provide clearer explanations of the alert system before the next visitor demonstration. The trial was about understanding how a warning system worked; it was not evidence that the center could predict fires with certainty.

A secondary school stored emergency supplies in several rooms. During an annual inventory, teachers counted packaged food, bottles of water, and battery-powered lights. They discovered that some items were missing from the record, although the school had not established whether the objects themselves were absent or merely entered incorrectly. The principal asked staff to check the rooms again before placing new orders. A supplier offered to replace some expired materials, but the school could not assume that this would solve all storage problems. The inventory team also noticed that different groups had recorded quantities using different units. It proposed a single reporting form and a schedule for future inspections. The school approved those record-keeping improvements but had not yet completed a full review of the supplies.

A town opened a temporary air-conditioned room in a public building during a period of hot weather. The room was intended as a place where residents could rest, not as a medical service. During the first week, staff recorded 120 visits. Because some people came more than once, this number did not mean that 120 different residents had used the room. Several people requested evening opening hours, but extra staffing and security would be required. A local adviser cautioned that attendance alone could not establish an improvement in residents’ health. The council therefore approved a study of user demand and operating costs rather than immediate expansion. The manager also planned to consult residents who had not visited, including those unable to travel during the current opening hours.

A district tested a service that delivered important local notices in several languages. During the first month, online messages were opened frequently, and many respondents said the explanations were clear. However, the survey included only people who had received and opened the digital notices. It did not show what residents without suitable devices thought, or whether everyone could act on the information. An adviser recommended maintaining a printed option and testing the service with people who used different languages and communication methods. The council approved further research, not the removal of existing paper notices. Staff planned to compare how quickly different groups received and understood the messages. The director explained that frequent message openings did not prove universal access or comprehension.
