英検4級のmany・much・some・any練習40問｜a few・a littleと数量表現【全解答】

結論：数量表現は①名詞が数えられるか、②単数・複数か、③肯定・否定・疑問・相手への勧めのどの文かで判断します。How many books?は本の冊数、How much water?は水の量。Would you like some tea?のように疑問文でもsomeを使う場面があるため、『疑問文は絶対any』と暗記しないでください。

英検4級の公式試験形式と数量表現の位置づけ

日本英語検定協会の4級公式の試験内容では、短文語句空所補充15問・会話文空所補充5問・語句整序5問・長文内容一致10問をリーディング35分で解き、別に約30分のリスニングがあります。数量表現の独立した固定大問はありません。以下の40問は慶英会独自演習です。試験の出題形式を完全再現したものではないため、公式の過去問・音声も併用してください。

a fewは『少しはある』という可算複数の表現、a littleは『少量はある』という不可算の表現です。fewやlittleだけだと『ほとんどない』という否定的な意味合いになりやすく、aの有無でニュアンスが変わります。初めはa few booksとa little waterを一対で覚えましょう。
