Why is there a problem?(何が原因か) / What is being done?(何を実施中か) / What remains uncertain?(まだ分からないことは何か)の3点を軸に整理します。 ただし本文のsome, may, plan to, has not yetを消して事実を変えないことが優先です。

has not yet measured効果がまだ測定されていない効果がないと証明済み

Students at Brookside School often had trouble finding lost jackets, notebooks, and sports equipment. Many items had no names, and the lost-and-found office opened for only thirty minutes at lunchtime. As a result, students sometimes bought replacements even when their belongings had already been handed in.

To make searching easier, the school is testing a digital notice board. Staff photograph unclaimed items and describe where they were found. The photos do not include students’ names, and only school members can view the board. Students must still visit the office to collect an item and show that it belongs to them.

Some families welcome the plan, but teachers worry about the time needed to photograph and remove old notices. The school has not yet measured whether the system reduces unclaimed items. Staff will review the number of returns after a three-month trial before deciding whether to continue.

問1:B(Missing labels and limited office hours.)。

2:C(A school-only notice board with item photos.)。

3:A(Photos do not include students’ names.)。

People visiting Westlake Park often bought bottled water because the old drinking fountain was difficult to find and sometimes out of order. Local residents asked the town to make free drinking water easier to access, especially during hot weather.

The town installed refill stations at two park entrances during a summer trial. Visitors could fill their own bottles, and signs explained where the stations were located. Several families said they used the stations instead of buying drinks. However, the town did not count how many bottles would otherwise have been purchased, so the reduction in plastic waste remains uncertain.

Keeping the stations clean also requires regular checks, and the cost of maintenance is not yet clear. Before adding more stations, officials plan to record use, repair costs, and visitors’ opinions throughout the next summer season.

A city library noticed that some new residents wanted to practice everyday English but could not join formal classes because of work schedules or long waiting lists. Librarians believed an informal conversation club might offer a useful additional place to practice.

Two volunteer-led sessions now take place each week. Participants talk about shopping, public transport, and local services in small groups. Several visitors have said they feel more comfortable speaking in daily situations. However, the library has not tested their language skills before and after joining, so it cannot claim that all participants have improved.

The club does not replace professional language courses, and volunteers cannot answer every difficult grammar question. The library is considering evening sessions in another neighborhood, but it first needs additional volunteers and a suitable room.

Residents of Hillview Apartments often found it difficult to understand their monthly electricity bills. Some did not know how heating, cooling, and appliances affected their costs, so the residents’ association proposed a simple information service.

Every month, the association now gives households a report explaining common sources of electricity use. Reports include practical suggestions, such as checking air-conditioner settings and turning off unused equipment. They do not show the names or individual bills of other residents. Some households said the advice helped them notice habits they had overlooked.

However, the association has not yet compared energy use before and after the reports began. It is also checking the costs of printing and translating the information for residents who use different languages. A wider service will be considered only after these issues are reviewed.
