Our group suggests adding a quiet reading area to the school library. In a fictional survey, 18 of 30 students said this would be useful. This result represents only those who answered our survey, not everyone at school. We recommend trying the area for two weeks and collecting feedback before making a permanent change.
問1:What is the proposal?
問2:How many of 30 students supported it?
問3:Can this survey represent every student?
問4:What should happen before a permanent change?
問5:How could you explain the survey’s limitation in English?
問6:Give a short model speech.
Our team proposes placing clearly labeled recycling bins near the cafeteria. We observed that some students put cans and paper into the same container, but we did not count how often this happened. We would like to run a one-week trial and record how many items are sorted correctly. We also plan to ask the cleaning staff for advice.
問7:What does the team propose?
問8:What did the team observe?
問9:Did the team measure how often this happened?
問10:How long is the planned trial?
問11:Why ask the cleaning staff for advice?
問12:Give a short model speech.
Our class wants to offer a quiet room and an outdoor game area during breaks. In our fictional survey, 12 students preferred quiet activities and 15 preferred outdoor games; three students did not answer. The results do not prove that one choice is better for everyone. We suggest trying both choices and asking students whether they help them return to class ready to learn.
問13:How many activity choices are proposed?
問14:How many students preferred outdoor games?
問15:How many students did not answer?
問16:Does the survey prove one activity is best for everyone?
問17:What should be asked after the trial?
問18:Give a short model speech.
Our team suggests adding a sign near a busy crossing. Three classmates said that cars sometimes turned quickly at the corner, but we have not measured traffic speed or accident numbers. We plan to ask the local office whether traffic information is available. We will also map the places students find difficult to cross before making a final recommendation.
問19:What is the team suggesting?
問20:What did the students report?
問21:Did the team measure traffic speed?
問22:Who will they ask for information?
問23:What will they map?
問24:Give a short model speech.
Our group prepared a presentation about saving electricity. The first draft included many technical words, so another group said it was difficult to follow. We changed three long sentences into shorter ones and added one diagram. We did not remove the evidence; instead, we explained what each number meant. We plan to ask one more group to review the final version.
問25:What is the presentation about?
問26:What was wrong with the first draft?
問27:What changes did the group make?
問28:Did they remove the evidence?
問29:What is the next step?
問30:Give a short model speech.
After a presentation about school lunch waste, a student asked whether the amount of waste had fallen over the last year. The presenters had only counted leftovers during one week, so they could not answer that question. They explained their one-week result and said that older records would be needed to identify a trend. They planned to measure the same items for several weeks under similar conditions.
問31:What was the presentation about?
問32:How long did the group measure leftovers?
問33:Could they say waste had fallen over a year?
問34:What would help identify a trend?
問35:What will they do next?
問36:Give a short model answer to the question.
