Cambridgeの文法解説では、「AをBだと考える」の代表的な形はconsider A to be Bまたはconsider A Bであり、regard A as Bとは文型が異なるとされています。学校の語順問題では特にregard asとconsider … to beを区別して覚えます。
The school treated a completed form as an application.
mistake A for BのAは『実際のもの』、Bは『思い違いしたもの』
He mistook the old timetable for the new one.

第2部|初見英文A(問17〜24)
A booking count and a confirmed seat(慶英会による架空の学校事例)
A fictional school organised a workshop with twenty seats. By Tuesday, twenty-seven students had submitted registration forms. One student regarded the twenty-seven registrations as confirmed places and announced that the workshop would be overcrowded. The librarian explained that the school treated a completed form as an application, not as an approved reservation. Only twenty students were accepted; the other seven were placed on a waiting list. Another student mistook the waiting list for a list of confirmed participants. The organiser corrected that misunderstanding and asked students to check individual confirmation emails. The workshop had not yet taken place. A final report would record actual attendance separately from registration and acceptance.

第3部|初見英文B(問25〜32)
An old timetable mistaken for a new one(慶英会による架空の学校事例)
A fictional school issued a draft timetable on Monday that showed a reading event starting at 3 p.m. On Wednesday, the school approved a revised timetable with a 4 p.m. start. A student downloaded the earlier file and mistook it for the approved version because the two documents had similar names. The teacher regarded the confusion as a reason to improve file naming, but did not treat the student’s error as intentional misconduct. The school added approval dates to the filenames and marked the Monday draft obsolete. The event would still take place on Friday in the same room. No cancellation had occurred, and the corrected start time did not mean the event had already begun.

A science chart judged too confidently(慶英会による架空の学校事例)
A fictional science class grew two groups of seedlings for three weeks. The first group received more light and water and reached an average height of fourteen centimetres. The second group received less light and water and averaged eleven centimetres. A student treated the difference as proof that additional light alone caused faster growth. A reviewer regarded that conclusion as too strong because watering differed as well. The teacher asked the group to distinguish a recorded difference from a confirmed cause. The class did not consider the experiment worthless; the observations were useful for designing a second test. It planned to keep watering the same for both groups and measure growth at several points rather than only at the end.

第5部|初見英文D(問41〜48)
A label that changed a school’s survey result(慶英会による架空の学校事例)
A fictional class collected thirty online survey responses. Eighteen students chose option A and twelve chose option B. In a draft bar chart, the two category labels were accidentally exchanged, although the totals in the spreadsheet were correct. One editor regarded the chart as evidence that option B was more popular. Another editor checked the source table and noticed that the labels had been reversed. The group corrected the chart before publication and treated the spreadsheet as the source for the recorded totals. The teacher explained that an accurately counted number can still be misinterpreted when it is attached to the wrong category. The class decided to check labels and totals separately in future work.
