Would you consider reviewing a small trial?
|---|---|---|
| Subject | Request to Review a Four-Week Trial |
| Purpose / Ask | I am writing to request consideration of …
| Evidence | On one day, 20 of 24 seats were occupied. |
| Limits / Conditions | Staffing costs have not been assessed. |
| Closing | Could you let us know whether … ? / Sincerely, |
大切なのは、proposed(提案された)・reviewed(検討された)・approved(承認された)・implemented(実施された)を混同しないことです。

Original fictional fact sheet: A fictional student committee wants the principal to consider a supervised four-week trial in which a study room with 24 seats would stay open from 4 to 6 p.m. on Fridays. On one day at 4 p.m., 20 seats were occupied. The committee has not measured daily demand, waiting times, staffing costs or safe departure arrangements. No extension has been approved. The group can help collect anonymised seat-count records but cannot itself authorise staffing or opening hours.
問1:Create a descriptive, neutral subject line.
問2:Choose an appropriate formal greeting.
問3:State the purpose of the message in one sentence.
問4:State the observed evidence with its limits.
問5:What can the observation not establish?
問6:Write a specific approval request.
問7:Name one necessary safeguard.
問8:State an appropriate student contribution.
問9:Write a polite, non-demanding closing sentence.
問10:Write a complete formal proposal email.
Original fictional fact sheet: In a fictional school, staff checked 60 waste items before changing sorting signs and another 60 afterward. Incorrectly sorted items fell from 18 to 12. The students also received verbal reminders during the period; the group has not isolated the effect of the signs. The organisers want a supervising teacher to approve one additional small observation using comparable categories and with no personal identification. The next observation’s date has not been fixed. Students should not describe the sign change as proven successful.
問11:Write a neutral email subject.
問12:Write a greeting to the supervising teacher.
問13:State the purpose of the request.
問14:Describe the two observed counts accurately.
問15:Calculate the decrease in percentage points.
問16:State why the signs’ independent effect cannot be claimed.
問17:What is the requested procedure?
問18:Can the email promise that the observation will happen on a specific date?
問19:Write a courteous closing request.
問20:Draft the complete email.
Original fictional fact sheet: A fictional committee surveyed 50 respondents about school festival maps. Thirty-five preferred a QR-code map and fifteen preferred paper. An earlier twelve-person trial found that ten could locate a room with a printed map and eight using a QR map; the testing order was not controlled. The committee wishes to ask a festival coordinator to consider a small dual-format trial involving one QR display and up to thirty printed maps. Printing costs and staffing have not been estimated, and no trial has been approved.
問21:Write a subject line that identifies the proposed scope.
問22:Choose an appropriate greeting.
問23:State the requested action.
問24:Describe the survey without confusing the populations.

問29:Write an appropriately conditional conclusion.
問30:Write a complete proposal email.
Original fictional fact sheet: A fictional science club plans simultaneous temperature checks at six locations. Four school sensors are currently available; two more would be needed for the proposed design. The group has not started measuring and has not obtained permission to borrow equipment from another classroom. A supervising teacher must approve the safety procedure and the borrowing arrangement. The club wants to request permission to explore borrowing two suitable sensors, not to claim that extra sensors have already been promised.
問31:Create a subject line for a specific equipment request.
問32:Write a formal greeting.
問33:State why the group needs additional equipment.
問34:Calculate the equipment shortfall.
問35:Describe the exact request politely.

問37:What safety condition must be met?
問38:May the email report that the six-location experiment has been completed?
問39:Write a useful next step if borrowing is impossible.
問40:Draft the full request email.

解10:Subject: Request to Review a Four-Week Study-Room Trial
Dear Principal,
I am writing on behalf of a student project group to request consideration of a supervised Friday study-room trial. We propose keeping the 24-seat room available from 4 to 6 p.m. on Fridays for four weeks, subject to school approval. On one afternoon at 4 p.m., 20 seats were occupied. This single observation does not establish daily demand, waiting times or the staff needed for longer opening hours. We therefore ask whether the school could review staffing and safe departure arrangements before any decision. If a trial is approved, our group could assist with anonymous seat-use counts. We understand that students cannot authorise opening hours themselves.
Thank you for considering the proposal.
Sincerely,
Student Project Group

20:Subject: Request for an Additional Sorting Observation
Dear Supervising Teacher,
Our project group would like to ask whether we may repeat a small waste-sorting observation. In two previous checks, incorrect sorting fell from 18 of 60 items to 12 of 60, or from 30 to 20 percent. However, students also received verbal reminders, so the figures do not prove that the new signs alone caused the change. We propose another observation with comparable categories, under appropriate supervision and without collecting identifying information about students. We have not selected a date because we need your guidance and approval first. Could you advise us whether the procedure is appropriate and which safeguards we should follow?
Thank you for reviewing our request.
Sincerely,
Student Project Group

30:Subject: Proposal for a Small QR-and-Paper Map Trial
Dear Festival Coordinator,
Our committee would like to request a review of a small dual-format map trial for the festival. In a survey of 50 respondents, 35 preferred QR-code maps and 15 preferred paper. Separately, a twelve-person navigation trial recorded ten successful attempts with paper maps and eight with QR maps, although the order of use was not controlled. These findings do not prove that either format is best for all visitors. We suggest considering one QR display and up to thirty printed maps, subject to approval. Printing costs, staff support and accessibility needs should be checked before any final decision. Could you advise whether this limited trial would be practical?
Sincerely,
Student Festival Committee

39:We could revise the plan to measure fewer locations or use a different schedule after consulting the teacher.
40:Subject: Request to Review Borrowing Two Temperature Sensors
Dear Science Adviser,
Our science club is planning a comparison of temperatures at six locations during the same time period. Four suitable sensors are currently available, so the proposed design would require two more. We have not begun the measurements and do not have permission to borrow equipment from another classroom. Could we discuss whether two additional sensors might be borrowed under an approved arrangement? We understand that the safety procedure, availability and return process must be reviewed before any equipment is collected. If borrowing is not possible, we can discuss a smaller or differently scheduled study instead. We would appreciate your guidance on a safe and practical plan.
Sincerely,
Student Science Club
