|---|---|---|
| allocate A to B | 資源Aを用途Bに配分 | We allocated 3,000 yen to printing. |
| allocate A for B | 目的BのためにAを用意・配分 | We allocated an hour for discussion. |
| assign A to B | 作業・役割Aを人Bに割り当てる | The teacher assigned a task to each group. |
| distribute A to B | 物Aを受け手Bに配る | We distributed booklets to students. |
| distribute A among B | 集団Bの中へAを配分 | We distributed the guides among four groups. |
| divide A into B | 全体AをBというグループに分ける | We divided the class into four groups. |
We allocated 5,000 yen to printing. We spent 2,000 yen on printing.
We assigned two students to checking the delivery. We assigned two students to check the delivery.

第2部|独自英文A(問17〜22)
A debate competition budget(架空の学校資料)
A fictional school debate club received a budget of 12,000 yen. The treasurer allocated 5,000 yen to printing, 4,000 yen to equipment and 3,000 yen to transport. The total of the three allocations equalled the full budget. The club also assigned one student to confirm each expense with the relevant supplier. Before any money was spent, a student reported that the club had already paid 12,000 yen. The teacher corrected that statement because allocating money was not the same as spending it. By Thursday, the only confirmed payment was 2,000 yen for part of the printing order. The treasurer planned to report actual spending separately from the initial allocation.

第3部|独自英文B(問23〜28)
Distributing an exhibition guide(架空の学校資料)
A fictional science club prepared forty-eight exhibition guide booklets for four classrooms. The organiser decided to distribute twelve copies to each room. Two student volunteers were assigned to check the delivery, while another student counted the unused copies. After delivery, all four classrooms had received twelve booklets and none remained in storage. A school newspaper wrote that forty-eight different visitors had received a booklet. The teacher corrected this: the club knew how many copies had been delivered to rooms, not how many unique visitors had taken them. The team planned to collect a separate count of booklets picked up by visitors at the exhibition. Distribution to rooms and use by visitors were different measures.

Assigning tasks for a school video(架空の学校資料)
A fictional high-school media team needed to create an eight-minute video. The leader assigned two students to write the script, three to record interviews and one to edit the final file. The six students began their work on Monday. The team allocated four hours to filming and two hours to editing, but these were plans rather than recorded working times. By Wednesday, the script was complete and two interviews had been recorded; the final editing had not begun. A student said that because two hours had been allocated to editing, the editing was already finished. The teacher corrected this confusion between a time allocation and work completed. The team planned to confirm actual work hours after the video was finished.

第5部|独自英文D(問35〜40)
Dividing a library activity into groups(架空の学校資料)
A fictional librarian organised a reading activity for twenty-four students. She divided them into four groups of six and assigned each group a different short article. The library allocated twenty minutes for reading and ten minutes for discussion. The activity was supposed to last thirty minutes in total. During the session, one group finished reading early and used the extra time to prepare questions. The librarian noted that allocating twenty minutes to reading did not mean every student had used exactly twenty minutes. At the end, twenty-two students had submitted their notes, while two had not. The librarian did not treat the allocation of time as proof that all participants had completed the task.
