① betweenは2つだけに限定されない
Between A and Bは基本ですが、between plans A, B and Cのように、3つの案が別々に特定されたときの相互比較にも使えます。人数の単純な数だけでbetweenを誤答にしないことが重要です。
② amongは集団の一員・群れの中
There was a rare book among the documents. は多くの書類の中に一つ含まれること。The student was among the five finalists. は選ばれた5人の一人です。
③ difference betweenとconnection between
The difference between the two results was small. / We looked for a connection between the four variables. のように、相互の関係を比較するときにbetweenが自然です。
④ 時刻・数字はbetween A and B
We will meet between three and five. のような時刻・数値の両端はbetweenを使います。between three to fiveではなくbetween … and … が基本です。
⑤ 分配の場面と二者の分担は違う
Share the tasks between Aya and Ken. は明確な2人の担当分け。Distribute the leaflets among the visitors. は来場者の集団に配ることです。配布実績や受領人数は本文で確認します。
⑥ Stage3 Projectで『比較した』と『採用した』を区別
We discussed differences between three plans. とあるだけでは、どの案が選ばれたかは分かりません。Readでは比較対象・集団・最終決定を区別しましょう。

独自英文B｜理科の2部屋比較
A science class studied temperature readings between Room A and Room B. The students found two thermometers among eight devices stored in a cabinet. They measured the two rooms but had not independently checked every device. The recorded numbers showed a difference between the rooms. However, because other conditions had not been controlled, no causal conclusion could be drawn from those readings alone.
