結論｜take place・be held・happenの違い
- take place：The festival took place yesterday.（祭りが開催された）。自動詞的な熟語でwas taken placeとはしない。
- hold：The school held a festival.（学校が祭りを開いた）。主催者が主語になる。
- be held：The festival was held at school.（学校で祭りが開催された）。be＋heldの受動態。
- will be held／will take place：未来の予定。実際に行われたことの証拠ではない。
- happen：An accident happened during the festival.（行事中に事故が起きた）。was happenedとはしない。
- cancel／postpone：中止する・延期する。開催予定・実施結果の区別が必要。
take placeとhappenの意味は重なる場合があります。take placeは計画された催しでよく使われ、happenは予想外の出来事にも自然です。ただし絶対的な使い分けではなく、文法的な構造・主語・時制を基準に判断します。

オリジナル英文：The student council at Birch School planned a science fair for Friday at 3 p.m. The school announced that the fair would be held in the courtyard. However, the weather forecast changed on Thursday, and the head teacher postponed the event. The fair did not take place on Friday. Instead, it was held in the gym on the following Monday at 4 p.m. The council organised three short demonstrations and a question-and-answer session. Seventeen students had registered before Friday, but only thirteen attended on Monday. During the second demonstration, a poster fell from a table. This small accident happened at 4:30 p.m., but nobody was hurt and the fair continued. The student council wrote a report explaining that the original date had been a plan, while Monday was the actual event date. The report also stated that the accident had not caused the fair to be cancelled. The organisers agreed to check the room and equipment more carefully before their next event.

基本的になりません。The event took place.が自然で、The event was taken place.は誤りです。
heldとwas heldの違いは何ですか？
The school held the event.では学校が開催した能動態、The event was held at school.では催しが開催された受動態です。
will be heldは開催済みという意味ですか？
いいえ。将来の開催予定を述べています。実際に開催されたかは後続の情報を確認してください。
happenは事故以外に使えますか？
はい。What happened?のように一般の出来事にも使えます。take placeと意味が重なる場面もあります。
postponedとcancelledの違いは？
postponedは延期、cancelledは中止です。延期された行事が後日実施される可能性はありますが、実施済みかは別に確認します。
