結論:NEW TREASURE(ニュートレジャー)Stage 2 Lesson 8の不定代名詞では、someone/anyone/no one/everyoneとsomething/anything/nothing/everythingを正しい意味・語順で使い分けます。Everyone is ready.

Can anyone help? Anyone can apply. I didn’t see anyone.
Everyone is here.、Nobody knows the answer.、Everything looks fine. Someone left their bag.
something useful/anyone interested/nothing important/somewhere quiet のように、不定代名詞を説明する形容詞は通常後ろに置きます。
Would you like something?とIs there anything?
Would you like something to drink? Do you have any questions?

At a fictional middle school, students organised a small English exhibition. Someone had left a notebook on a desk, so a volunteer asked whether anyone had lost it. The teacher advised them not to write private contact details on a public notice. Instead, the group brought the notebook to the school’s lost-property desk and followed the approved procedure. Before the exhibition opened, every student received the safety instructions. Everyone was asked to check the room numbers. Ken said that everything looked ready, but Yui noticed something unclear in the visitor guide. She asked whether anyone knew the correct opening time. Nobody wanted to guess, so they checked the school office’s official notice. The teacher explained that ‘someone’ and ‘anyone’ did not always mean the same thing. A sentence saying ‘Someone is waiting’ states that a person is there, while ‘Is anyone waiting?’ asks whether such a person exists. An instruction saying ‘Anyone can join if they meet the stated conditions’ expresses open choice, not uncertainty. At the event, several visitors gave useful feedback. One person wrote that the new signs were easy to read. The class did not claim that everybody had found the exhibition independently because it had not measured that outcome. Its report separated what someone had said from what everyone had actually done.
- Q33. What item had someone left on the desk?
- Q34. Where did the group take the notebook?
- Q35. Did the students publish private contact details?
- Q36. Who received safety instructions?
- Q37. What problem did Yui find in the guide?
- Q38. How did the group check the opening time?
- Q39. Can ‘anyone’ mean free choice in an affirmative sentence?
- Q40. Did one visitor’s feedback prove everyone found the exhibition independently?
