Distance: Stop C is the closest by distance.(距離ではCが最も近い)。Condition: The map does not show every crossing.(全ての横断地点が示されていない)。Question: Is the route step-free and safe?(段差なく安全に通れるか)。Action: Ask the responsible staff.(担当者へ確認する)。

英語の比較級はshorter than/closer than/three degrees cooler thanなどです。

In a fictional town called Fairview, students compared three bus stops near a school. Stop A was 400 meters away along the route on the practice map, Stop B was 700 meters away and Stop C was 300 meters away. Stop C was the closest by measured distance. However, the class noticed that the practice map did not show the condition of every crossing or path. A shorter distance did not automatically mean that Stop C was the safest or most accessible choice for every person. The students suggested asking the local transport office about step-free access and up-to-date route information. They had not contacted the office yet. The teacher connected their discussion to the real UN Sustainable Development Goal 11, which includes accessible, safe and sustainable transport. The town, distances and stops are entirely invented.

A fictional public park in Oakbridge has two entrances and a short walking path. The north entrance opens at 8:00 a.m., while the south entrance opens at 9:00 a.m. The information board says that the south entrance has a ramp, but it does not give the slope of the ramp or confirm that every path in the park is step-free. A rest area is located 250 meters from the south entrance along the marked path. One volunteer suggested writing, ‘Everyone can use every path without assistance.’ The park team corrected the sentence because its map did not support that claim. The group decided to publish only the entrance hours and the distance shown, then ask responsible staff for a verified accessibility guide. The park and all facilities are imaginary.

A fictional science club used two thermometers to record air temperatures at the same time in a schoolyard. One thermometer was placed in a shaded location and read 29°C. The other was placed in a sunny location and read 32°C. The recorded difference was three degrees Celsius. The students checked the instruments before the comparison, but they measured only once that afternoon. They did not record the wind speed or humidity at both spots. A student suggested that planting more trees would always lower every part of the town by exactly three degrees. The teacher explained that this conclusion was not supported by one pair of measurements. The club proposed repeating the observation on several days with appropriate supervision. The temperature values and school are invented, not actual climate or weather data.

For a fictional class presentation, four students studied the real United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 11. They learned that the goal includes inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable cities and communities. The class made up a survey about improving signs in a public square. Forty residents were invited to answer, but only thirty-two replied. Twenty respondents wanted clearer direction signs, while twelve preferred keeping the existing signs. Eight invited residents did not respond. The students thought larger letters and clearer arrows might help, but they had not tested a new sign or asked every resident. They decided to request a meeting with town staff, not to promise an approved change. A careful report would say what the respondents said, identify the need for more information and keep the UN’s real goal separate from the invented local numbers.

Action

I think public spaces should be easy for different people to use. Our fictional park has a ramp at the south entrance, but the information board does not explain every path. For example, visitors may need to know the slope of the ramp or whether they can reach the rest area without steps. We should ask responsible staff for verified details before promising that every route is accessible.

FAQ|NEW TREASURE Stage2でSDG11を読む
