結論｜receive・accept・getの違い
- receive＋物：We received an invitation.（招待状を受け取った）。受領だけで承諾は不明。
- accept＋招待／申し出：She accepted the invitation.（招待を受諾した）。実際に出席したかは別。
- get＋物：I got your email.（メールを受け取った）。日常的な言い方。
- 送信／受領：sent vs received。
- 承諾／実施：accepted vs attended。
- 受動態：was received（受領された）、was accepted（受理・承認された）。
receiveとgetは届くことに焦点があり、acceptは内容を受け入れる判断に焦点があります。ただしacceptには申込書を受理する意味もあるので、本文の目的語とその後の説明を合わせて確認してください。

オリジナル英文：The science club at Eastwood School invited a guest speaker. On Monday, the club emailed invitations to three local experts. By Tuesday, the school had received a reply from two of them. One expert accepted the invitation and offered to speak on Friday. The other replied that she was unavailable, so she did not accept. The third expert had not replied yet. On Wednesday, the club received a confirmation email from the first expert and then prepared twenty chairs. The school office accepted the club’s request to use the library on Thursday. The club also sent a registration form to students. Fifteen students registered, but the organisers did not treat the registrations as confirmed attendance. receiveは物・連絡が届くこと、acceptは提案・招待などを受け入れることです。
accept an invitationは出席したという意味ですか？
いいえ。参加に同意したことを表しますが、当日の出席実績は別です。
getとreceiveはどちらも正しいですか？
多くの受領の文脈で両方使えます。receiveのほうが事務的・改まった文面に使いやすい場合があります。
I accepted the emailは自然ですか？
メールという通信自体を受け取ったならreceived the emailが明快です。その内容の申し出を受諾したならaccepted the offerです。
承認・受領・登録の数が違う場合は？
何を数えた数字なのかを確認し、同じ人数だと仮定しないことが重要です。
