because は理由、however は逆接、for example は例、instead は代案、we ask …
The school library will open a temporary reading room in Room 103 next week. The main library will be closed for three days because workers need to repair its ceiling. Students may still borrow books, but they should use the temporary room during this period. The temporary room opens at 8:00 a.m. and closes at 4:30 p.m. A sign outside the main library will direct visitors to Room 103.
Students must not leave borrowed books outside the locked main library. They should return books to the desk in Room 103 instead. A student who needs to return a book after 4:30 p.m. should contact the library office the next school day. Reading in the temporary room is free, and students do not need to register. However, they must bring their school ID when borrowing or returning books.
The library team knows that some students may be confused by the sudden change. For that reason, it will place larger signs near the stairs and send an email to all classes. This announcement does not say that every library service will remain available. Students who need a special item should ask the library office first.

The student council proposes keeping one classroom open for quiet study twice a week after lessons. Some students find it difficult to concentrate at home, and a supervised room might give them another choice. In a short survey of thirty students, nineteen said they would like to use such a room. The council does not claim that these results represent every student in the school.
A few teachers have raised reasonable concerns. A study room needs supervision, and the classroom might also be required for club activities. Keeping it open every day would be difficult. The council accepts these points and is not asking the school to change the timetable immediately.
Instead, the council suggests a three-week trial on Tuesdays and Thursdays, only when a teacher and a classroom are available. Students would register before using the room, follow quiet-study rules and leave the room clean. At the end of the trial, students and teachers could give feedback. We ask the school to consider this small trial before deciding on a permanent policy. We hope this approach can help students while respecting the needs of teachers and clubs.

Our science club investigated how the location of a thermometer might affect air-temperature readings. On Monday, the team measured one sunny courtyard at 3:00 p.m. and a shaded area at 3:30 p.m. The sunny reading was 29 degrees Celsius, while the shaded reading was 25 degrees. Because the readings were taken at different times, the group could not know whether the four-degree difference was caused only by shade.
On Tuesday, the students measured both locations at 3:00 p.m. using the same type of thermometer. The sunny reading was 27 degrees, and the shaded reading was 26 degrees. The difference was one degree. The results therefore did not show a constant four-degree effect. The team recorded the numbers in a table but did not calculate long-term averages from only two days of observations.
Next month, we plan to repeat the test over four weeks and record cloud cover and wind as well as temperature. This will help us compare days with more similar conditions. Our report describes observations, not proof that one location is always cooler. We invite other students to check our method and suggest better ways to collect data.

Our school newspaper published an article about the number of students using the new study room. The article said that thirty students had joined the trial. Later, the editors discovered that thirty students had registered, but only twenty-four had actually attended. The two numbers referred to different things, and the original article did not explain that difference. A student reader noticed the problem and asked the editors to check the figures.
We reviewed the registration list and the attendance record with a teacher. We then published a correction: thirty students registered, and twenty-four attended at least one session. We also changed the chart title from "Students using the room" to "Students registered for the trial." These changes did not prove whether the room improved anyone’s grades, because we had not collected examination data.
The purpose of this report is not to blame one student for a mistake. We want readers to understand how an unclear label can change the meaning of a number. Before publishing future reports, we will ask another editor to check who was counted, when the count was made and what each chart represents. We also welcome questions from readers who notice unclear claims.
