結論｜keep up with・catch up with・catch up on・fall behind
- keep up with＋人・進度：keep up with the class（授業に遅れずついていく）。
- catch up with＋人・集団：catch up with my classmates（クラスメートに追いつく）。
- catch up on＋未消化の仕事：catch up on homework／reading（遅れた宿題や読書を片付ける）。
- fall behind with／in＋課題・教科：fall behind with schoolwork（学校の課題が遅れる）。
- behind schedule：be two days behind schedule（予定より2日遅れ）。
- 過去形：keep–kept–kept、catch–caught–caught、fall–fell–fallen。
catch up with my classとcatch up on missed assignmentsは関係しますが同じ意味ではありません。欠けている課題を終えても、その間に授業がさらに進んでいれば追いついていない可能性があります。現在のクラス進度と自分の完了した内容を必ず区別してください。

独自英文：At Parkwood School, the English class had completed five reading tasks by Friday. Yui had finished only three because she was absent on Wednesday and Thursday. She had fallen behind with her schoolwork, although the rest of the class was keeping up with the teacher’s plan. On Saturday, Yui made a list of the two missing tasks. On Monday, she asked the teacher for help and worked on the first missing task. On Tuesday, she finished the second missing task and caught up on the work she had missed. The class was still reviewing the same five tasks, so Yui had caught up with her classmates as well. Her friend Ken was working on a different science project that was two days behind schedule. The teacher explained that finishing missed English tasks, reaching the class’s current stage and catching up on an unrelated project were separate accomplishments. 全文和訳

- catch up with the classを『欠席分の課題を終えただけ』と判断しない。
- falled behindと書いた→fell behind。
- クラス5課題・自分3課題・不足2課題を混同しない。
- 1日8問を4日、5日目にRead、6日目に実際の復習計画を英作文、7日目に誤答再テスト。
よくある質問
keep up withとcatch up withは同じですか？
前者は遅れず進度を維持すること、後者は遅れた後で追いつくことに焦点があります。
catch up withとcatch up onの違いは？
catch up withは人・クラスの進度、catch up onは欠けている課題・読書などに使うのが基本です。
catch upの過去形はcatched upですか？
違います。catch–caught–caughtなのでcaught upです。
fall behindは落第を意味しますか？
必ずしもそうではありません。作業・進度が遅れている状態で、成績・合否は別です。
宿題を全部終えれば必ず追いついたことになりますか？
いいえ。クラスが新しい範囲へ進んでいる場合もあるため、現在の授業進度も確認します。
