Why did you start the club?(なぜ部活動を始めましたか)。事実:Twelve students joined the first meeting.(初回は12人が参加)。発言:Mina said that some students needed a quiet place.(ミナは静かな場所を必要とする生徒がいたと話した)。確認:We do not know how many will join next week.(来週何人来るかは分からない)。
英語の間接疑問はwhere she livesのような平叙文語順になり、直接疑問Where does she live?

1. 見出し:Students Start an After-School Reading Club. 2. 事実:Twelve students joined the first meeting. 3. Mina said that the club would try smaller groups. 4. 限界:Next week’s attendance has not been confirmed.
A Reading Club Tries Smaller Groups — A new reading club met in the library on Tuesday. Twelve students joined the first meeting. In an interview, Mina explained that some students wanted a quiet place to talk about books. However, too many questions meant that some students did not get a chance to speak. Mina said that the club would try smaller discussion groups next time. The number of students who will attend the next meeting is not yet known.
Who/What/When/Where/Why/Howのうち何を尋ねるのかを先に決めます。
