NEW TREASURE Stage1のReadや初見長文で「本文と違う英文を正しく直しなさい」と言われると難しい中学1年生へ。 本文と一致しない英文をFalseと判断できても、どこが違うか説明し、正しい英文に書き換えるには文法と読解の両方が必要です。慶英会が完全オリジナルの4長文・40の内容不一致文・全文和訳・全解答と根拠解説を作成しました。

結論：英文訂正問題は①設問の人物・日時・数値・場所を囲む→②本文から同じ事実を探す→③食い違う1か所を見つける→④元の英文の正しい部分を残す→⑤全文で書き直す順番で解きます。例えば本文がYui chose a book about birds.なのに設問がYui chose a book about fish.なら、fish→birdsだけを変えて正しい英文にします。

本文の学校名・人物・4つの長文と40問はすべて慶英会の独自制作です。Ｚ会『NEW TREASURE』教科書本文・Workbook・学校の試験問題を転載しません。ここに掲載した40の誤文はすべて本文と1か所の事実が違うように作成した演習で、True/False/Not Givenの3択形式とは異なります。

内容不一致の英文を直す5つの注意点

• Who：人名・組・先生・役割を区別する
• When：曜日・時刻・期限。doors openとshow startsを混同しない
• Where：旧会場と最新会場、northとsouthなど反対の表現に注意
• How many：人数・本・写真・席など単位をそろえる
• 否定・例外：not allowedとallowed without flashなど条件を正確に読む

設問の誤文を直すときにやってはいけないこと

誤った1語を変えた結果、時制・主語・単数複数が合わなくなってはいけません。たとえばThere are four student.は複数なのでstudentsが必要です。今回は事実の違いが主な出題ですが、訂正後には主語・動詞・冠詞・単複も見直します。元の文の大部分は正しいため、関係ない内容を勝手に変えないことも重要です。

オリジナル4長文・誤文訂正40問｜問題編

問1〜10は図書室、11〜20は園芸活動、21〜30は音楽祭、31〜40は自然散策です。各本文を先に読み、設問の誤文を全文で直してください。すべての設問は本文と異なる情報が含まれています。解答を確認する前に根拠に線を引きましょう。

A｜Reading Challenge｜問1〜10

オリジナル英文：On Monday, Ms. Kim gave Class 1A a reading challenge. There are twenty-four students in the class. Each student must finish one book by Friday at 4:00 p.m. Yui chose a book about birds. Ken chose a mystery story, and Mika chose a science book. Mika borrowed her book on Tuesday. The school library is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays, but it is closed on Saturday. Yui reads after dinner at home. Ken wrote a short summary in English on Wednesday. The students will bring their reading cards to Room 204 on Friday.

The students used two large watering cans. They began at 3:30 p.m. and finished at 4:15 p.m. They worked near the school gate, not behind the gym. Aya took three photos of the new plants. Ken made a small sign for the garden. The teacher will check the plants again on Friday. It was sunny on Tuesday, but the forecast says rain for Wednesday.

The school band begins at 4:00 and plays for thirty minutes. The original poster said Room 201, but the new notice says the main hall. There are forty seats, and twenty-eight are reserved. Families need a visitor pass, although the concert is free. Photos are allowed without flash. The festival ends at 4:45 p.m.

At 11:00, they ate sandwiches under a large tree. The group returned to the school gate at 12:30 p.m. It did not rain during the walk. Their teacher asked them to write three English sentences about what they saw.

A｜Reading Challenge

月曜日、Kim先生は1A組に読書課題を出しました。生徒は24人。金曜午後4時までに各自1冊を読み終えます。Yuiは鳥の本、Kenは推理物語、Mikaは理科の本を選びました。Mikaが本を借りたのは火曜日。図書室は平日午前8時から午後5時までで、土曜は休館。Yuiは家で夕食後に読みます。Kenは水曜に短い英語の要約を書きました。生徒は金曜に204号室へ読書カードを持っていきます。

B｜School Garden

火曜日、生徒12人が学校の園芸活動に参加しました。Lee先生がハーブの植え方を教えました。A班はバジル6株、B班はミント4株を植えました。大きなじょうろは2つ使用。午後3時30分開始、4時15分終了。活動場所は体育館裏でなく校門近く。Ayaは新しい植物を3枚撮影し、Kenは小さな表示板を作りました。先生は金曜日に再確認予定。火曜は晴れ、水曜予報は雨。

C｜Music Festival Program

学校の音楽祭は金曜日、メインホールで開催。入場は午後2時30分から、コンサート開始は午後3時。最初はYuiのピアノが3時5分、続いて中1合唱が3時30分、バンドは4時から30分間演奏します。旧ポスターの201号室は誤りで新通知はメインホール。座席40席中28席予約済み。無料ですが来場券が必要。写真はフラッシュなしなら可。音楽祭は午後4時45分終了。

D｜Sunday Nature Walk

なぜFalseとNot Givenは違うのか

Falseは本文と反対の内容が書かれていると確認できる場合です。Not Givenは本文に判断材料が足りない場合です。たとえば「Mika borrowed her book on Wednesday」は本文でTuesdayと分かるのでFalse。一方「Mika read her book in two hours」は本文に読書時間の情報がないため、通常はNot Givenです。本文にない細部を追加して誤った訂正をしないようにしましょう。

解いた後は1文を英語で要約してみる

本文Aの読書課題ならClass 1A students must finish one book by Friday at 4:00 p.m.（1Aの生徒は金曜4時までに1冊読み終えなければならない）、本文CならThe music festival is on Friday in the main hall.（音楽祭は金曜メインホールで開催）と、核になる情報を正しい英文で書き出しましょう。読む力と英作文を同時に確認できます。

7日間の復習

1日目は本文Aを10問、2日目はB、3日目はC、4日目はD、5日目に40問を再解答、6日目は自分で本文の事実を1か所変えた誤文を5つ作成し、7日目にその誤文を本文の根拠で修正します。何となくFalseを選ぶだけでなく、正しい全文を自分で書けるかが重要です。

Q．すべての設問がFalseなのですか？

はい。本教材の40問は、本文と一致しない点が必ず1か所あるように制作しています。目的は選択式の正誤判定ではなく、正しい英文への訂正です。

Q．英文の一部だけ書き直してよいですか？

練習では全文を完成させてください。学校の問題で「誤っている1語だけを書け」と指示されている場合は、その指示が優先です。

Q．本文に書かれていない情報も加えてよいですか？

いいえ。本文の根拠に基づいて必要な箇所だけを直してください。
