結論｜4動詞の違いと5つの基本構文
- agree to do：〜することに同意する。例：We agreed to meet on Friday.
- agree with 人・意見：人や意見に賛成する。例：I agree with your opinion.
- agree on 事項：日程・計画などについて合意する。例：We agreed on the date.
- agree to 提案：提案・条件を受け入れる。例：They agreed to the proposal.
- refuse to do：〜することを拒む。例：She refused to answer.
- promise to do：〜すると約束する。例：He promised to return the book.
- decide to do：〜すると決定する。例：They decided to start a trial.
Readingでは実行済みか・未確定かを分ける
A group agreed to test the program.（試行には合意）とA group decided to introduce it permanently.（恒久化を決定）は違います。promise to review（検討を約束）は、改善を保証したことではありません。また、refused to participate（参加を拒否）した団体を確定参加者として数えないよう、長文の文脈を確認しましょう。

長文1｜学校図書館の延長開館と決定の段階
A junior high school wanted to keep its library open later during examinations. Some students agreed with the proposal because they needed a quiet place to study. Others worried that the school would need to pay for additional staff. The principal promised to review both the costs and the likely number of users before making a final decision.
