日本英語検定協会の現行準2級WritingはEメール返信40〜50語（目安）、意見英作文50〜60語（目安）の2題です。Eメールは相手の質問へ答え、下線部の特徴について具体質問を2つ。意見英作文は自分の立場と理由2つを書く必要があります。語数ばかりに気を取られて課題条件を落とさないよう、英検協会の公式Writing体験、準2級試験内容も確認してください。
語数の増やし方・削り方の基本
- 短すぎる場合は、Eメールなら具体質問2つ・相手の問いへの回答、意見英作文なら異なる理由2つが揃っているか最初に確認する。
- 長すぎる場合は、必要な質問や理由を消さず、同じ感想の反復や題意に関係ない追加文を先に削る。
- 例題は意図的に語数不足・冗長な初稿を載せています。添削前の英文を覚えず、模範答案と修正の理由を確認してください。
- 模範答案は空白で区切られた英単語数を学習用に数えています。実際の答案では公式の語数目安と解答欄を優先します。

7日間の復習法
- Eメールの短い答案は質問2つが不足していないか、長い答案は質問を残して簡潔にできるか練習する。
- 意見英作文はFirstとSecondで二つの異なる理由が説明できているか確認する。
- 同じ原稿を暗記せず、別の話題に対して同じ構成で書き直す。
- 7日後に英検協会の初見Writing2題を読み、時間内に両方完成させる。
よくある質問
語数目安から少し外れたら必ず0点ですか？
公式では40〜50語、50〜60語を「目安」と案内しています。わずかな超過・不足だけで必ず0点と断定することはできません。ただし課題に対応していない答案や必要条件の欠落は重大な問題となるので、語数よりも設問への回答を優先して正確に書いてください。
長い答案はどの文から削りますか？
同じ感想の繰り返しや問いに関係ない体験から削り、Eメールの具体質問2つ、意見英作文の異なる理由2つは残します。
短い答案へ難しい単語を足した方がよいですか？
必要な質問・理由・簡単な具体例を足す方が重要です。語数合わせのために不自然な難語を使う必要はありません。
