Part D|
A fictional school conducted a survey about smartphone use before bedtime. In the report, the author emphasized that the respondents were volunteers rather than a random sample of every student. A table highlighted a difference between students who used phones late at night and those who did not. However, a teacher pointed out that the survey did not establish whether phone use caused changes in sleep quality. Other factors, such as homework schedules and family routines, had not been measured. The small sample size underscored the need for a broader study. During a parent meeting, the principal stressed the importance of avoiding conclusions stronger than the evidence allowed. One parent mistakenly thought that the repeated warnings proved that all phone use was harmful. The principal clarified that the report had identified possible concerns, not a universal effect. The school planned a follow-up study that would distinguish the timing of phone use from other factors influencing sleep.
問29.What did the author emphasize about the sample?
問30.What did the table highlight?
問31.What did the teacher point out?
問32.What underscored the need for further research?
問33.What did the principal stress at the meeting?
問34.Did the report prove all phone use was harmful?
A fictional town library tested longer opening hours for one month. A leaflet highlighted the new schedule and stressed the importance of checking updated information before visiting. At the end of the trial, officials reported a rise in evening visitors. A graph emphasized the increase, but a librarian pointed out that the figure counted total visits rather than unique people. Some residents had used the library several times. The difference underscored the need to define what the data represented. A local article claimed that the graph proved the entire town wanted permanent evening opening. The director challenged that interpretation and noted that the trial did not include people unable to travel after dark. At a public meeting, officials emphasized that the results were encouraging while also explaining the remaining uncertainties. The town planned to collect information about staffing, transport and different groups of users before deciding whether to make the new hours permanent.
問35.What did the leaflet highlight?
問36.What did it stress?
問37.What did the graph emphasize?
問38.What did the librarian point out about the count?
問39.What underscored the need to define the data?
問40.Did the graph prove all townspeople wanted permanent opening?

Part D|2
Respondents were volunteers, not a random sample of all students.。
A difference between late-night phone users and nonusers.。
The survey did not establish causation.。
問32 解答:The small sample size.。

問35 解答:The new opening schedule.。
問36 解答:Checking updated information before visiting.。
An increase in evening visits.。
It measured total visits, not unique visitors.。
