A city installed brighter lights along a riverside path after residents reported feeling unsafe. A survey conducted six months later found that more people used the path in the evening. Although some officials attributed this increase to the lights, the survey did not ask users why they had chosen the route. During the same period, a new bus stop opened nearby. Environmental groups also warned that stronger lighting might affect insects and nocturnal birds. The city plans to study both pedestrian activity and wildlife before expanding the project.

A college recorded lectures so students could review difficult sections. Students who watched the videos regularly tended to achieve higher scores, but researchers cautioned that the finding did not establish that watching videos directly improved performance. Motivated students might both watch more videos and study longer. Some students also reported that recordings made it easier to manage part-time jobs. The college decided to retain face-to-face classes while offering recordings as additional resources.

A clothing retailer began collecting used garments for reuse. The company announced that thousands of items had been received, but it did not disclose how many were actually resold or recycled. Critics argued that collection totals alone were insufficient to measure environmental benefits. In response, the retailer promised to publish annual figures showing how garments were processed. Independent observers said that such reports could improve transparency, provided the definitions and counting methods were clear.
