- 1. 変更:not anymore / instead / moved to / stillから、旧情報と新しい予定を区別する。
- 3. 最終決定:in the end / decided to / after discussingから、最終的に何を選んだか確認する。
- 4. 必須条件:must / only if / unless / not automaticallyで、満たす必要のある条件を把握する。

Script 1|
A: Is our online research course starting on Monday as planned? B: Not anymore. The instructor has a conference on Monday, so we moved the first lesson to Wednesday. A: Has the starting time changed too? B: No. It will still begin at seven thirty in the evening. A: Then I can attend after my part-time job. B: Great. Please remember that the registration deadline is Tuesday at noon, even though the first lesson is on Wednesday.
途中から戻るための手掛かり:not anymore / moved / still / even though
Script 2|
A: Are we still holding the children’s reading session in the garden? B: We were going to, but heavy rain is expected. The library room on the second floor is available, so we’ve moved it there. A: Should families use the entrance near the garden? B: That entrance is closed for repairs. They should use the west entrance and follow the new signs. A: I’ll put the updated directions in the email tonight. B: Thank you. The session is still scheduled for eleven on Saturday.
途中から戻るための手掛かり:were going to / but / moved / still
Script 3|
A research team examined whether students who slept longer also achieved higher scores on short tests. A small group of volunteers reported their sleep habits, and the team observed a relationship between longer sleep and higher marks. Several headlines described the result as proof that extra sleep caused better performance. However, the researchers cautioned that other factors, including study routines and stress, might have influenced both measurements. They recommended further research before making a stronger claim. Their main concern was not whether sleep mattered, but whether the evidence justified the certainty of the public claims.
途中から戻るための手掛かり:however / other factors / recommended / not … but
Script 4|
A city introduced streetlights that can become dimmer late at night to reduce electricity use. The project attracted attention because the technology seemed simple and the equipment could operate automatically. Yet engineers warned that the trial’s success could not be judged by electricity consumption alone. If sensors failed to detect some pedestrians, the lighting might create new problems. The city therefore decided to observe actual use of the paths, ask residents about their experience, and measure maintenance costs as well as energy use. Officials said that a useful system would save resources without making public spaces less accessible.
途中から戻るための手掛かり:yet / could not … alone / therefore / without
Script 5|
Members of a school committee discussed two ways to improve their online homework system. One option was to purchase more tablets, while another was to prepare offline versions of important assignments. Some members initially favored buying devices because several students lacked computers. During the meeting, however, teachers explained that many difficulties were caused by unreliable internet connections at home. In the end, the committee decided to begin with offline resources and review device demand afterward. The members said that a second purchase could still be considered if the first change did not address the needs of learners.
途中から戻るための手掛かり:initially / however / in the end / afterward
Script 6|
Volunteers at a community repair café hoped to accept as many donated appliances as possible. The organizers wanted to reduce waste and teach practical repair skills. Before the event, a qualified technician inspected the planned activities and pointed out that some electrical devices required specialist equipment. After discussing the risk, the group decided not to handle those appliances during the trial. Instead, staff would provide basic safety information and refer visitors to appropriate repair services. The event would still include safe repairs to furniture and simple household items. Organizers wanted useful assistance, not a large number of repairs at any cost.
途中から戻るための手掛かり:after discussing / decided not / instead / still
Script 7|
A museum is recruiting volunteers for a weekend educational program. Applicants must be at least sixteen years old and attend a short safety briefing before participating. Most sessions are held on Saturdays, but volunteers can also choose a Sunday group if places remain. There is no participation fee. However, the museum cannot accept applications that arrive after Thursday at five in the afternoon. The staff explain that an applicant meeting the age requirement is not automatically registered; the form and briefing are both necessary.
途中から戻るための手掛かり:must / before / however / not automatically
Script 8|
A local archive provides digital copies of historical records for registered users. Basic written descriptions are available without payment, but some high-resolution images can only be accessed after a permission request. The archive checks copyright and privacy conditions before granting access. Users can submit requests online at any time, although replies are normally sent within five working days. Staff stress that submitting a request does not guarantee approval. If an image cannot be shared, they may offer a written summary of the relevant record instead.
途中から戻るための手掛かり:but / only after / does not guarantee / if
