結論
直接話法を間接話法へ変える際には、発言した人、報告した人、報告の時点を整理します。時制の一致に加え、I・you、today・tomorrow・yesterday、here・thisが指す対象を変えなければ意味がずれます。学校連絡の独自24問で実践します。
対象：NEW TREASURE Stage3を学ぶ中高一貫校の中3生。高校英語・英作文への橋渡しを兼ねる独自教材。学校の採用版・既習範囲を優先してください。問題・英文・解説は慶英会のオリジナルで、教科書や公式問題の転載ではありません。
解説：4つの判断原則
1. 過去の発言を過去の報告動詞で伝える際は、am→was、will→would、can→couldなどの時制の一致が一般的。ただし今も変わらない事実や報告時点によっては必須ではない。
2. say (that) … と tell＋人＋(that) … を区別。He told me that … とできるが、He said me thatは避ける。
3. 発言日と報告日が異なるなら today→that day、tomorrow→the following day、yesterday→the previous day などへ調整。常に置き換えるわけではない。
4. I・my・you・here・thisなどの人称・場所の指示は、話し手や報告時点・場所によって変わる。代名詞を機械的に置き換えない。
独自例文・和訳
On Monday, Emi said, ‘I will finish it tomorrow.’ → Reporting this on Wednesday: Emi said on Monday that she would finish it the following day.｜月曜の恵美の発言を水曜に報告すると、発言日の翌日（火曜）に終える予定だったという意味になる。
Ken told me, ‘I am busy today.’ → Ken told me the next day that he had been busy the previous day.｜健の言葉を翌日伝える場合、発言当日の忙しさを表す。
The teacher said, ‘This room is closed.’ → The teacher said that that room was closed.｜発言場所から離れて報告する場合の指示語の変更例。

On Monday morning, Rina told the school office, ‘I will send the final report tomorrow.’ On Tuesday afternoon, the office had not received it. A staff member telephoned her and asked, ‘Did you send the file today?’ Rina replied that she was still checking one graph and would send the report that evening. On Wednesday, the teacher summarized the exchange for the class. She said that Rina had originally planned to send the report on Tuesday and that the office had asked whether she had sent it that day. The teacher did not say that the file had actually arrived, because she had not confirmed its receipt. She explained that changing a quotation into reported speech required the writer to track not only the tense and the pronouns but also the date from which ‘tomorrow’ and ‘today’ were measured.
