結論:英語案内のmust(義務)・may(許可)・only if(必要条件)・until(期限)を取り違えると、参加条件を誤って理解します。たとえばVisitors must register.
must notは原則禁止、do not have toは義務がないことを表します。
only if a booking is confirmedは予約確定が必要という条件です。

Original Reading: A high school prepared notices in English and Japanese for an international science workshop. The approved rules stated that visitors must register online before arriving. Participants were allowed to ask questions after the main demonstration, and the information desk would remain open until four in the afternoon. Students were not required to bring a laptop because the school had shared devices available. During translation, one student accidentally described online registration as optional instead of compulsory. Another translated the permission to ask questions as an obligation for everyone to speak. A third version suggested that the information desk opened at four, rather than closing then. The teacher asked students to compare each translated sentence with the approved rules. She explained that smooth wording was not enough if it changed an obligation, a permission, or a time condition. The club corrected the translations and made a small table classifying each action as required, allowed, optional, or prohibited. Older signs were removed so that families would not read outdated instructions. On the day of the event, a visitor asked whether bringing a personal laptop was mandatory. The student guide explained that it was not. The team later reported that short words such as must, may, only, and until could determine whether an instruction was understood correctly.
