学習目標と基本解説
目標は本文の事実、筆者の意図、条件付きの提案、確かな根拠を区別し、初見長文の英問英答と英作文に使うことです。
The library opens at nine.は情報提供ですが、The library should extend its hours.は提案です。同じ図書館という話題でも筆者の目的は異なります。
warnは特定の危険を指摘して読者に注意させる表現で、単なる否定的な評価ではありません。Readers should check the deadline before applying.には注意喚起が含まれます。
一つの文章に情報提供・警告・提案が併存する場合があります。全体の主目的を探し、例示や数値はそれを支える根拠かを判断してください。
