TRUE/FALSE/NOT GIVENという形式は本教材独自の練習方式であり、特定Lessonの出題形式を保証するものではありません。

TRUE・FALSE・NOT GIVENの判定法 / 40問 / 全解答・全訳 / 復習 / FAQ

否定文やmay・might・not yetなどの限定に注意します。The school had not decided …

A fictional high school tested later library opening for four weeks. The library normally closed at six o’clock, but during the trial it stayed open until seven on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The room had forty seats, and two teachers supervised each evening. The library recorded seventy-two visits in week one and eighty-four visits in week two. The report did not record the number of distinct students who made those visits. Some students might have attended more than once. The trial also included a survey about convenience, but the school had not yet tested whether the arrangement improved reading ability. The principal said that safety and staffing costs would need further review before any permanent change was approved. The school had not yet decided whether to continue the trial the following term.

A fictional school compared two classes during a writing course. Class A had thirty students who could use a digital feedback tool, while Class B had thirty students who received ordinary feedback. The groups were not assigned at random. After the course, the average writing score was seventy for Class A and sixty-six for Class B. The assessment was marked out of one hundred. In Class A, eighteen students answered a satisfaction survey, and twelve of those eighteen said that feedback arrived quickly. The report did not provide a satisfaction survey for Class B. Teachers noted that the difference in average scores alone could not establish that the tool had caused the result, because the classes had different previous writing experiences. They recommended a new study with more comparable groups and a separate check of feedback quality.

11. Each class had thirty students.

問12. Students were randomly assigned to the two classes.

A fictional school offered two Saturday workshops. The morning workshop focused on scientific writing and had twenty-five places. The afternoon workshop focused on debating and had twenty places. Students could apply for either workshop or both, but they had to submit one application form for each workshop. The application deadline was Friday at five p.m. Applications received after the deadline would not be considered unless the school formally extended it. The school reserved five morning places for students who needed additional learning support. It had not published any special reservation rule for the afternoon workshop. Fees were waived for students approved for financial assistance, but approval was not automatic. The announcement said that a student would receive confirmation after the school reviewed the applications. It did not state how many students had already applied.

In a fictional town, a student science club collected litter from two riverbank zones during a one-day project. The eastern zone covered a two-kilometer path, where volunteers recorded forty plastic items. The western zone covered a one-kilometer path, where they recorded twenty-five items. Both counts were made on the same day, but the number of volunteers assigned to each zone was not included in the report. The club’s first headline claimed that the eastern zone was more polluted because it contained more recorded items. A teacher asked the group to consider the different path lengths and the possibility that items had been missed. The revised report stated the counts and distances without ranking the actual environmental harm. The students planned to repeat the survey in another season, but the date was not fixed. No measurements of water quality were taken during the project.

31. The eastern zone was two kilometers long.

問32. The western zone had more recorded plastic items.

問33. Both zones were surveyed on the same day.

問36. There were twenty-five recorded items per kilometer in the western zone.

問37. The eastern zone had the higher count per kilometer.

問38. The students proved that the western zone had worse water quality.

問39. The next survey date had been fixed.
