最新メールが全てを再掲しているとは限りません。①日付が新しい訂正を優先、②変更されなかった条件は以前の通知を引き継ぐ、③received・accepted・approvedを混同しない、④予定・申請・受入れ・実参加を分ける、という4点を確認します。
文脈上、Please note a change / remain unchanged / confirmation of receipt only / not yet approved / on the condition that は特に重要です。複数の案内に矛盾がある場合は、実際には学校へ確認が必要なこともあります。

The new starting time replaces the 3:30 p.m. time in the June 1 message.

メール1｜July 2｜差出人：Writing Committee｜件名：Student Essay Event
Students may submit one original essay discussing how schools can reduce wasted materials. The suggested length is 120 to 150 words, and the submission deadline is July 10 at 5 p.m. Essays should be uploaded through the school portal. The committee will assess clarity, evidence, and grammatical accuracy. The event is voluntary and is not part of the regular English grade.

Following requests for additional drafting time, we have revised the event requirements. The suggested essay length is now 150 to 180 words. The submission deadline has moved to July 12 at 5 p.m. All other conditions, including the topic and use of the school portal, remain the same. Students who have already submitted a shorter draft may replace it with a revised version before the new deadline; they are not required to submit two essays.

The portal displays ‘received’ after a file is uploaded successfully. This status means that the file arrived, not that judges have approved its content. Students can replace the uploaded file until July 12 at 5 p.m. The committee will begin evaluating essays after the deadline. Please check that your final file is the version you want the judges to read.

A laboratory tour for high school students is scheduled for August 20. The laboratory can accommodate eighteen participants. Students who wish to join should submit a permission form by August 8. The department will review the applications and send decisions by August 12. Students without parental permission cannot join the tour.

We received twenty-six applications for the eighteen available places. Eighteen students have been offered places. Eight others have been placed on a waiting list, ordered by the time complete applications were received. A waiting-list place is not permission to attend. If an accepted student cancels, the department will contact the next eligible student. The tour date and place limit remain unchanged.

All participants must bring a completed emergency contact form. Those who have already submitted the form electronically do not need to bring a paper copy. The session is required for students who have been accepted into the project, but attending it does not itself confirm final travel permission.

The office will announce final travel decisions later. No one should interpret the September 13 reminder as confirmation that travel permission has already been granted.

メールを読むときの自己チェック
まず各スレッドで日付・時刻・会場・締切・定員を表に分け、どのメールが何を上書きしたかを線で結びます。次に「受領」「選考」「正式承認」「実際の出席」の状態を区別し、最後に本文の根拠語句を指し示します。翌日は誤答のみ、3日後には第3・第4メールの条件部分を再読し、1週間後に初見の新しいメールで再現しましょう。
FAQ
訂正メールが来たら最初のメールは全部無効ですか？
変更対象となった条件が上書きされるのが通常ですが、remain unchangedと書かれた日付・会場・締切などは引き続き有効です。各項目を分けて確認します。
receivedとacceptedは同じですか？
いいえ。receivedは書類などを受領したこと、acceptedは応募・参加が受け入れられたことです。実際の出席も別の段階です。
waitlistedなら参加できますか？
補欠名簿にいるだけでは参加承認とは限りません。空きが生じて正式に受け入れられたか確認します。
