住まいの比較英作文で使う5つの観点
Affordability：予算への適合。Travel time：通学時間。Space：部屋の広さ。Accessibility：移動・利用のしやすさ。Conditions：予約・時間・規則などの条件。物件比較では単位をそろえ、未計上の費用や前提も説明しましょう。
「毎月14,000円安い」は、12か月では14,000×12＝168,000円の家賃差です。ただし追加の費用を含む総支出ではありません。本文の数字が何を含み何を含まないかを必ず確認してください。
独自4英文・全40問｜家賃・通学・環境・共同生活
資料A｜家賃・広さ・通学時間が異なる2つの住まい
A fictional student group compared two rental apartments for an English project about a comfortable home. Apartment A had a monthly rent of 78,000 yen, an area of twenty-four square metres and a typical journey of twenty minutes to the school. Apartment B had a monthly rent of 64,000 yen, an area of thirty square metres and a typical journey of thirty-five minutes. Both descriptions used approximate travel times rather than guarantees. The students calculated a monthly rent difference of 14,000 yen and a twelve-month difference of 168,000 yen, assuming the rent remained unchanged. One student argued that Apartment B was clearly superior because it offered more space for less money. Another noted that it involved a longer journey on every school day. The comparison did not include deposits, utilities, transport fares or the condition of the buildings. The teacher asked the students to state their priorities and the assumptions behind the calculation before recommending a choice.

A fictional school housing guide described three routes from a residential area to the campus. Route North was 1.2 kilometres long and took about eighteen minutes on foot, but it included a long staircase. Route Central was 1.6 kilometres and took about twenty-four minutes on a step-free path. Route South used a bus that usually took twelve minutes after boarding, but the waiting time varied and the bus did not run during certain school holidays. Some students praised Route South as the shortest journey. The guide’s editor explained that twelve minutes was only the time on the bus, not the complete door-to-door trip. Another student valued Route Central because it provided a route without stairs, despite taking longer than Route North. The school recommended checking which routes were actually available on the dates students would travel. It did not describe one route as the best for everyone. A realistic housing comparison should include accessibility, frequency of transport and uncertainty as well as distance.

A fictional class asked sixty students what feature they considered most important in a place to study at home. Forty-five responded. Twenty-four selected a quiet room, thirteen selected reliable internet access and eight selected a larger desk. Each respondent could choose only one feature. The class newsletter first wrote that “most students prefer quiet rooms.” The teacher explained that twenty-four out of forty-five was a majority among respondents, but the forty-five respondents did not necessarily represent all sixty invited students or the whole school. Some students might have cared about both quietness and internet access but could not express that combination. The questionnaire measured preferences, not whether any particular home actually supported higher scores. The class therefore proposed an additional task in which volunteers would examine pictures of room layouts and explain whether they could complete a reading assignment under each set of conditions. The group also wanted to hear from people whose study needs differed from those of the original respondents.

A fictional student residence has shared study rooms and a kitchen. The written notice says that the quiet study room is available from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on weekdays. The kitchen is open until 9:30 p.m., and residents are expected to leave shared equipment clean after use. Students may reserve a group room for up to ninety minutes, provided that they receive a confirmation number through the residence portal. Sending a request does not itself guarantee the booking. A maintenance notice issued on Monday stated that the lift would be unavailable on Wednesday afternoon. A newer update published on Tuesday explained that a step-free alternative entrance would be staffed during that period. The residence director asked students to follow the latest official update, not a screenshot from the first notice. None of these fictional arrangements was a promise that every student would have an accessible route at all times; residents were encouraged to confirm individual needs with staff.

Apartment B offers more space for a lower monthly rent, but its typical journey is fifteen minutes longer. If the rent stays unchanged, the annual difference is 168,000 yen. I would compare transport costs and building conditions before deciding. A lower rent is a strong advantage, yet it should not be the only consideration.
資料B｜短い通学路と段差のない通学路｜模範段落
The route that looks fastest on a timetable may not be fastest from door to door. Route South takes twelve minutes after boarding, but its waiting time varies. Route Central is longer than Route North but offers step-free access. I would include access needs and actual service schedules when comparing a home near school.

Among forty-five respondents, twenty-four chose a quiet room as the most important study feature. This is a majority of the respondents, but it does not establish the preference of the entire school. The question also forced each person to choose only one feature. The class should test actual study tasks and consider different access needs before recommending a housing design.

A shared residence can be convenient if its facilities and rules are clearly explained. Students should compare available study hours, booking conditions and accessible routes. In this fictional notice, a room request becomes confirmed only after a confirmation number is issued. The later update about the lift should also be checked before travelling. Clear information can help residents make better decisions.
英作文の完成度を上げる確認項目
結論とその理由を書いたら、①家賃の月額・年間、②距離と所要時間、③少数者の移動上の必要、④アンケートの回答者の範囲、⑤未確認の利用条件を区別します。模範段落を暗記するのではなく、自分が重視する条件を1つ追加し、本文で確かめられない点は確認が必要と示してください。
1〜4日目に各資料10問、5日目に数値を検算、6日目に比較意見文を英語90〜120語で書き、7日目に全40問を再テストします。これは慶英会の自習用順序で、学校の指定語数・提出要件があればそれを優先します。
