①Why / What / How manyなどの疑問詞と述語動詞を確認、②該当する根拠の英文を探す、③否定notや推量may、数値・比較する対象を落とさない、④本文から連続する必要な部分だけを抜き出す。

The science club proposed a small exhibition about local rainfall for visitors who had never studied climate charts before. Before choosing the charts, the students checked whether all figures came from the same four-week period in September.

The first graph showed eighty millimeters, while the second showed ninety-five millimeters from a different month. Aya warned that comparing different months without labels could give visitors the wrong impression about a change in rainfall.

The group added the names of the months and the correct units beside each axis of the graphs. On Wednesday, twelve students tested the graphs, and three confused millimeters with centimeters during the exercise.

After the test, the club replaced an unclear abbreviation with the full word millimeters on both graphs. A teacher explained that clearer labels did not prove that rainfall caused changes in the harvest of local crops.

The team decided to display the original source of the weather data directly beneath each finished chart. By Friday, the revised display was ready, although the students still encouraged visitors to ask about uncertain information.

The library committee proposed a small sharing shelf for books that students no longer needed at home. Before opening, volunteers inspected sixty donated books and found twelve with missing pages or other serious damage.

The remaining forty-eight books were placed on labeled shelves according to their subjects rather than their original owners. Each student could borrow up to two books for a period of fourteen days without paying any fee.

The committee recorded book titles and return dates but did not include students’ home addresses in the paper log. After one week, thirty-four borrowing transactions had been recorded, although a reader could borrow two separate books.

The librarian explained that the number of borrowed books did not necessarily equal the number of individual readers. At the end of the trial, nine books remained unreturned, but some of their deadlines had not yet passed.

The members checked every due date before describing any particular book as late in the final report. The club planned another two-week test before deciding whether the shelf should become a permanent library service.

A third-year student named Hana directed an English presentation for families visiting the school festival on Friday. The first script included several long sentences that were difficult for younger students to follow when spoken aloud.

On Monday, actors shortened the dialogue while keeping the main intentions of their characters unchanged throughout the story. The club placed a caption screen beside the stage because some visitors could not hear every spoken word.

Twelve classmates watched Wednesday’s rehearsal, and five reported that the captions disappeared before they could finish reading. The teacher checked the Japanese summary because an inaccurate translation might change the speaker’s intended message.

On Thursday, Hana slowed the captions and moved the screen closer to the actors without changing the ending. The revised performance became easier to follow, although not every observer understood every small detail of the speech.

Instead of claiming total success, the club asked visitors to complete a short anonymous feedback form after the performance. The students concluded that clear communication required both accessible language and careful attention to different audience needs.

The science class planned fifteen signs describing local plants and insects for visitors taking a self-guided walk. Before printing the labels, students checked all plant names in reliable reference books instead of guessing unfamiliar terms.

The teacher warned that not every visitor would have a smartphone or reliable internet access while exploring the trail. Sixteen volunteers tested the first route, but four of them were unable to open the digital information.

Another three volunteers missed a turning because the temporary arrow was too small to see clearly from the path. The class recorded access problems and unclear arrows separately because they required different solutions during the next trial.

On Thursday, students printed paper maps and replaced the unclear arrow before asking volunteers to try again. During the second trial, all twelve participants reached the destination without asking a teacher for directions.

The teacher praised the improvement but said it did not prove the route would be easy for every future visitor. Before making the trail permanent, the class planned another review involving people with different accessibility needs.
