Little did I knowは疑問文ではない
Little did I know that the room had changed.は「部屋が変わっていたとはほとんど知らなかった」です。did I knowは疑問文と同じような語順ですが、文末は通常ピリオドです。副詞littleが「ほとんど〜ない」の意味を持っているため、文頭で倒置が起こります。
Never・Seldom・Rarelyでは助動詞を補う
Rarely does he arrive late.では一般動詞arriveは原形です。Rarely does he arrivesではありません。be動詞ならSeldom are these rooms empty.のようにbe動詞そのものを主語の前へ置きます。

The teacher said, “At no time did the office confirm the proposed change.” One student thought the sentence meant the presentation had been canceled. The teacher explained that the lack of confirmation did not mean cancellation. The club kept the existing timetable while the staff checked whether Room 6 was available and accessible. On Thursday, the secretary received a revised map, but it did not include final approval. She wrote, “Never have we had so many changes to consider.” Another student added, “Seldom do we receive complete information so early.” The group decided to wait for an official decision before changing the website. A student research group collected twelve forms for a project about library use. During the first review, the pupils noticed that five forms contained dates from an outdated schedule. Their secretary said, “Little did we know that some of the dates were wrong.” The expression showed that the group had not been aware of the problem. The teacher asked whether the students had checked the original records before copying the dates into a table. They admitted they had not. Another pupil wrote, “Never have we made this kind of error before,” but the teacher suggested making a factual statement rather than a dramatic claim unless they had checked their earlier work. The group corrected the five dates and compared the new table with the source documents. However, the report had not yet been formally approved or published. The team wanted to develop a clear checking process for future projects. It recorded the original mistake, the correction and the remaining review work separately, without claiming the final results had already been verified.
