「影響する」は通常affect(動詞)、「影響・結果」はeffect(名詞)です。 Noise can affect concentration. / Noise has an effect on concentration.
| effect | 名詞:影響・結果 | have an effect on attendance |
| impact | 名詞・動詞:影響 | have an impact on the community |
| influence | 名詞・動詞:影響・働きかけ | influence a decision / influence on behaviour |
The new timetable had an impact on attendance.とThe new timetable influenced attendance. influence on the decisionは名詞の用法、influence the decisionは動詞の用法です。
The count increased after the sign changed. The sign caused the increase.

A school committee wanted to investigate whether clearer signs affected attendance at a small exhibition. On its first observation day, forty visitors entered the room. The committee then installed a larger sign near the entrance. On a later day, fifty-two visitors were counted. The observed number had increased by twelve. A student wrote that the sign had definitely caused the increase. The teacher asked the group to consider other possible influences, including the weather, day of the week and the number of school activities scheduled at the same time. None of these conditions had been compared carefully. The committee therefore reported an increase in attendance but treated the effect of the sign as uncertain. It planned to collect figures on several comparable days and ask visitors whether they had used the new sign. A member suggested that the new sign might have had a positive impact on visitors, but this remained a hypothesis. The students learned that describing a change, identifying an influence and proving a cause were different stages of research.

解答:No.

Read B|
A student science club tested two ways to check figures in a project report. The first method involved reading every line of a printed table. The average time recorded for a group was twenty minutes. A second method used a short digital checklist, and the average time in that trial was fifteen minutes. Several students said that the digital method was more effective in every respect because it had reduced the recorded time by five minutes. Their teacher asked them to distinguish speed from accuracy. The group had not measured how many mistakes each method detected. It had also used different reports in the two trials, so the difficulty of the material might have influenced the results. The students wrote that the new procedure appeared to have an effect on time, but that a fair comparison of overall performance required more evidence. They planned to use reports with the same known mistakes and compare both time and error detection. The teacher reminded them that a method could have a positive impact on speed without necessarily improving accuracy or suitability for every student.
Q37. Read B|
20 minutes.
Q38. Read B|

Q40. Read B|
解答:No.
