4動詞の文型を最初に確認
- say：She said ‘Thank you’.／She said that she was tired.／She said hello to me.
- tell：Tell me the news.／Tell Ken to wait.／Tell me about the meeting.
- speak：Speak English.／Speak to the teacher.／Speak at the ceremony.
- talk：Talk to a friend.／Talk with the group about the event.
say meとtell to meが不自然になる理由
She said me the answer. は通常不自然で、She told me the answer. とします。sayを使う場合はShe said the answer to me.のように受け手をtoで示せます。She told to me … とせず、tell＋人＋内容の語順で覚えてください。
speakとtalkには共通して使える場面がある
speak to my teacher とtalk to my teacher はどちらも自然な場合があります。speakは言語や発表、talkは会話や意見交換に焦点が置かれやすいものの、必ず相互に置き換えられないわけではありません。英作文では、学校で学んだ基本表現を優先しつつ自然な別解を理解しましょう。
say that／tell me that／tell me toの違い
He said that the event was free. とHe told us that the event was free. は内容の報告です。He told us to check the ticket. なら行動の指示を表します。ask someone to は依頼を表し、tellとは丁寧さや話し手の意図も異なり得ます。

At a fictional school, volunteers prepared a small English information desk. The teacher told the volunteers to check the room numbers before visitors arrived. Hana said that the first presentation would begin at ten o’clock. Ken wrote this information on a poster, but the group checked the official timetable before displaying it. They did not assume that one student’s memory was enough.
Yui talked with the other volunteers about greeting visitors. She could speak English and wanted to speak more clearly during the event. The teacher asked her to speak slowly when someone needed an explanation. She practised expressions such as ‘Could you tell me which room you need?’ and ‘May I speak to the teacher in charge?’
