形式目的語かどうかの判定
find・make・think・considerなどの動詞の後にitがあり、その後にeasy・difficult・important・clearなどの語が続き、さらにto不定詞やthat節で内容が説明される場合、形式目的語の可能性があります。逆にI read it.のitは既に話題に出た具体的な物を指します。
問題の構成と解き方
第1〜4部は英作文32問。第5部はitの働きを判定する8問。第6部は訂正・書き換え8問です。合計48問を1問1点で自己採点し、形式主語と形式目的語を混同していないか確認してください。C・Dの一部は発展的な構文です。

第1部｜find it difficult / easy to do：話し手が評価する8問
find＋it＋形容詞＋to doは、評価の対象となる行為を後ろの不定詞で示します。

第2部｜make it easy / possible：道具や説明が可能にする8問
make it＋形容詞＋to doは、原因となる物を主語にできます。大きな変化を断定せず、具体的な効果を述べます。

第3部｜think / consider it important：判断を述べる8問（発展）
think it important toやconsider it necessary toはやや改まった英文です。It is important toとは評価する主語が異なります。

- Q19：私たちは資料を比較することが大切だと考えます。（consider it）

第4部｜it＋that節：何が明らか・奇妙なのかを説明する8問（発展）
make it clear that … / find it strange that … のitは形式目的語です。後ろのthat節が判断内容になります。

- Q26：私は結果が違っていたことを奇妙に感じました。
- Q27：学校は締切が金曜日だと明示しました。
- Q28：ケンは誰も来なかったことを不思議に思いました。

ありがちな誤りと7日間復習
I found difficult to …ではitが欠けています。I found it difficulty to …では形容詞を名詞にしてしまっています。make it easier to …では、itとto不定詞の両方を残す必要があります。1日目から6日目まで各部8問を解き、7日目は全誤答を解答非表示で再テストします。主語の評価か、人が感じた評価かも確認してください。

いいえ。前者は一般的な評価、後者は話し手Iの感じる評価を明示します。
