葛飾区立中学校の中学2年生で『NEW HORIZON』のUnit Activityに向けた英作文や英文読解が難しいときは、単語・文法を確認するだけでなく、「案内を読む→条件を整理する→相手に必要な英語を書く」という一連の流れを練習することが重要です。本記事では慶英会オリジナルの4資料・40問と全解答・解説を公開します。学校で扱った単元に合わせて、読解と英作文の両方を仕上げましょう。
東京都教育委員会の2025〜2028年度使用教科書採択結果では葛飾区の公立中学校英語は東京書籍。東京書籍の令和7年度版『NEW HORIZON English Course』では、各Unitの途中のActivityを積み上げ、最後のUnit Activityで目的・場面・状況に合う表現活動へつなぐ構成が説明されています。ただし本記事の4つの英文・設問は教科書に掲載された文章でも、葛飾区の学校の過去問でもありません。

結論｜Unit Activityの成績を上げるための3つの作業

長文の正答は「知らない単語がなかったから」だけでは決まりません。例えば by Thursday は木曜日を期限とし、on Thursday はその日を表すだけです。up to three は最大3であり、必ず3冊ではありません。この違いを日本語でも説明できてから、英作文へ進みます。
学習の進め方｜40問を一気に解かず4回に分ける
- 1回目（20〜30分）：資料1の案内を読み、10問を解く。解答は10問をすべて終えるまで開かない。
- 2回目（20〜30分）：資料2。曜日・時刻・雨天の変更条件を本文に印を付けてから答える。
- 3回目（20〜30分）：資料3。行動順・相手の条件・予算に注目して読む。
- 4回目（20〜30分）：資料4。人数と割合、データから断言してはいけない内容を分けて記述する。
- 翌日：間違えた英作文を別の数字や曜日で書き直す。1週間後：4資料のうち最も失点した資料だけをもう一度解く。
資料1｜図書室のBook Swap Day【独自10問】
オリジナル英文：Our school library will hold a Book Swap Day on Friday, November 13. The event will start at 3:30 p.m. and end at 5:00 p.m. Students can bring up to three books, but they must write their names on a small card before they give the books to the staff. Comic books and damaged books cannot be accepted. Students who do not bring books can still come and read. Four volunteers will introduce their favorite books in English. If you want to be a volunteer, please tell Ms. Mori by Wednesday. The event will be in Room 201 because the library is being repaired.

オリジナル英文：The Green River Club is planning a community clean-up on Saturday morning. We will meet at the east gate of Sakura Park at 9:00 a.m. The clean-up will last for 90 minutes. The club will prepare gloves and bags, so please bring only a water bottle and a hat. If it rains heavily, we will meet at the same place on Sunday at 9:00 a.m. We will make the final decision at 6:00 p.m. on Friday and post it on the school website. Please sign up with your class teacher by Thursday. After the activity, club members will count the collected bags, but a larger number of bags does not always mean that the park is dirtier.

オリジナル英文：Mika and Leo are making a plan for Saturday. Leo wants to visit the history museum, but it opens at 10:30 a.m. They will leave the station at 9:45 a.m., so Mika suggests visiting the city park first. The park is a ten-minute walk from the station. They will have lunch at a restaurant near the museum at 12:30 p.m. Leo does not eat meat, and the restaurant offers a vegetable curry. The museum ticket costs 300 yen for students. Mika has 500 yen, but she also needs money for the train home. They decide to check the museum website for discount information instead of assuming that Mika can pay the ticket price.

資料4｜文化祭エコブースのアンケート【独自10問】
オリジナル英文：Class 2B ran an eco-booth at the school festival. Before the event, the class planned to sell drinks in reusable cups. On the first day, 80 visitors bought drinks. Fifty visitors used reusable cups, and thirty used paper cups. On the second day, 120 visitors bought drinks, and 90 used reusable cups. Students asked visitors why they chose each type of cup. Some said reusable cups looked better, while others said paper cups were easier to carry. The class wrote a report saying that the number of reusable cups increased from 50 to 90. However, they did not say that every visitor had changed their mind, because different people visited on the two days.

第1段階は、本文から日時や数値をそのまま見つける情報抽出です。第2段階は、理由・例外・延期条件を1行に要約する条件整理です。第3段階では、同じ情報を友人に知らせる掲示、メール、口頭説明へ言い換えます。実際の定期テストでどの技能が何点を占めるかは学校の試験範囲・評価規準を優先してください。
特に数字を扱う英文では、人数が増えたことと割合が上がったことを分けて説明する練習が有効です。資料4では初日の再利用率62.5%、2日目75%となりますが、同じ来訪者を追跡した調査ではないため「全員の考えが変わった」とは結論づけられません。読解の根拠を英作文へ接続することで、単なる文法問題より実際の説明力を確認できます。
