長文1|夜の公園で照明をどう使うか(全162語)

Paragraph 1

Many residents welcome bright lights in public parks because they help people see walking paths after sunset. However, some people living nearby are concerned that strong lamps shine into bedroom windows. A group studying local wildlife has also asked the town to consider how lighting affects animals that are active at night.

Paragraph 2

The town is testing lamps that direct light toward paths rather than into the surrounding gardens. Volunteers observed that pedestrians could see the steps clearly on the test route. However, these observations were limited to one park and two evenings. Officials have not yet measured how the lamps affect all wildlife or how much electricity they use over a full year.

Paragraph 3

Instead of turning every light off or making every area brighter, the writer believes the town should check the needs of each location. Lighting should support people walking home while avoiding unnecessary problems for residents and the environment. Longer studies and public feedback would make future decisions more reliable.

問1:Which position does the writer support?

  • A. Removing every light immediately
  • B. Increasing brightness in every part of the park
  • C. Adapting lighting to local needs and reviewing evidence
  • D. Prohibiting all evening visits

問2:Which observation supports the proposed lighting approach?

  • A. Pedestrians could see steps on the test route.
  • B. All wildlife avoided the park.
  • C. Every resident preferred the same brightness.
  • D. The lamps had already reduced electricity use for a year.

問3:What limitation does the passage clearly identify?

  • A. The town has closed the park.
  • B. The observations covered only one park and two evenings.
  • C. No pedestrians used the test route.
  • D. All lamps stopped working.

問4:Which statement goes beyond the evidence provided?

  • A. Further feedback may help decision-making.

長文2|制服の修繕制度と費用の負担(全163語)

Paragraph 1

A school is considering a program where families can repair old uniforms or exchange ones that children have outgrown. Supporters say the program could reduce spending and help families use clothing for longer. They also believe that learning simple sewing skills could make students more confident about caring for their belongings.

Paragraph 2

However, a repair service would need volunteers with enough time and experience. Some uniforms could be badly damaged or the wrong size, and not every family would be comfortable using exchanged clothing. A trial involving ten volunteers might help the school understand how many families would use the service, but the first results would not necessarily represent the entire school.

Paragraph 3

The writer argues that such a program is worth testing as an optional service, not as a rule requiring every student to wear second-hand uniforms. Clear information about cleaning, sizes, and repair limits would be important. The final decision should consider feedback from families and the actual cost of running the program.

問5:What is the writer’s attitude toward the program?

  • A. It should be compulsory immediately.
  • B. It is worth testing as an optional service.
  • C. It must be rejected without a trial.
  • D. It should replace every school activity.

問6:What is one argument in favor of the program?

  • A. It might help families spend less on uniforms.
  • B. It guarantees every uniform will fit.
  • C. It eliminates the need for volunteers.
  • D. It makes all students prefer used clothing.

問7:Why might a trial with ten volunteers give incomplete information?

  • A. The school has no uniforms.
  • B. The program is already compulsory.
  • C. A small trial may not reflect the entire school.
  • D. All families refused to answer questions.

問8:Which conclusion is not supported?

  • A. Cleaning information should be clear.
  • B. Some families may prefer not to exchange clothing.
  • C. The school should consider operating costs.
  • D. Every family will save exactly the same amount.

長文3|学校の休み時間に静かな場所を作る(全167語)

Paragraph 1

Students at a large secondary school asked for a quiet space during lunch. The cafeteria was often busy, and some students said they wanted a place where they could read or relax for a few minutes. Teachers considered turning a small classroom into a quiet area on certain days.

Paragraph 2

During a two-week trial, students could use the room for twenty minutes at a time. Many enjoyed the space, but staff observed that there were not enough seats during some lunch periods. A few teachers also worried about supervision and the need to keep the room available for ordinary lessons. Those observations suggest that the idea could help, but they do not prove that every student would use it.

Paragraph 3

The writer recommends continuing the trial with clearer booking rules and a plan for supervision. Creating a quiet room could be useful for students who need one, but it should not remove other lunchtime options. School leaders should decide how often to open the room after collecting more feedback.

問9:Which recommendation best matches the writer?

  • A. Continue with better rules and collect more feedback.
  • B. Close the cafeteria forever.
  • C. Require all students to stay silent at lunch.

  • C. Different students need different lunchtime options.
  • D. The trial proved the room was unsafe.

問12:Which statement exceeds what the trial shows?

  • A. Some students valued the space.

長文4|博物館のデジタル地図と紙の案内(全155語)

Paragraph 1

A museum introduced a digital map that visitors could open on their phones. The map showed where to find popular exhibitions and offered brief descriptions in several languages. Some visitors said the new tool helped them spend less time searching for rooms and more time looking at displays.

Paragraph 2

However, not everyone wanted to use a phone while visiting the museum. Older devices sometimes had trouble loading the map, and some families preferred asking staff for advice. Museum workers therefore kept printed maps near the entrance and added a help desk during busy hours. They planned to compare visitor comments before deciding whether to develop more digital features.

Paragraph 3

The writer believes digital maps are useful when they add another way to receive information. They should not replace every printed guide or personal conversation. Providing several options can help visitors with different needs, although the museum still needs to examine the cost and effectiveness of each option.

問13:What view does the writer express?

長文5|翻訳ボランティアによる地域情報(全150語)

Paragraph 1

A community group noticed that newcomers sometimes had trouble understanding local event notices. Volunteers who knew more than one language offered to rewrite short announcements using simpler words. The group hoped this would help more residents learn about activities near their homes.

Paragraph 2

During a small trial, some readers said the translated notices were easier to understand. However, volunteers occasionally disagreed about how to translate important rules. For example, the exact deadline for an application could become unclear if the wording was too casual. The group therefore asked experienced reviewers to check notices about money, safety, and registration before they were published.

Paragraph 3

The writer supports the project, but only with careful review and clear responsibility for important information. Translation can improve access, yet a friendly style must not change the actual meaning of rules. The group should evaluate the process over time instead of assuming that every translation is automatically correct.

問17:How does the writer evaluate the volunteer project?

  • A. It should work without any checking.
  • B. It can help if important translations are reviewed carefully.
  • C. It should never include local event notices.
  • D. It should replace all official offices.

問18:What positive result appeared in the trial?

  • A. Some readers understood notices more easily.
  • B. Every translation was perfectly accurate.
  • C. All official deadlines disappeared.
  • D. No one needed local information.

問19:Why did reviewers check money, safety, and registration notices?

  • A. To make all texts longer.
  • B. To remove every deadline.
  • C. Because mistakes could change important rules.
  • D. To prevent volunteers from helping.

問20:Which conclusion is stronger than the evidence?

  • A. A friendly style may improve understanding.
  • B. Different volunteers may choose different words.
  • C. Some translations require expert review.
  • D. The project has made every local notice completely accurate.
