結論｜5語の意味と文型の整理
claim：正しいと主張する。He claimed that the road was open.（道路が開いていると彼は主張した）。主張の事実性は保証しません。report：出来事や調査結果などを報告・報道する。Residents reported a problem to the town.（住民は町へ問題を報告した）。報道内容の正確さは別途確認が必要な場合があります。
announce：決定や予定などを公表する。The office announced the new timetable.（事務所は新時刻表を発表した）。confirm：情報が正しいかを確認する。Staff confirmed the arrival time.（職員は到着時刻を確認した）。deny：何かが事実ではないと否定する。She denied changing the data.（彼女はデータを変更したことを否定した）。
動詞の前後の主語と内容を比べます。「Aが主張した」「Bが否定した」という対立があっても、どちらが正しいかは第三者による検証などが必要です。claim A / claim that節、report A to B、announce A、confirm whether節、deny doingを文型ごと覚えましょう。

①claimは発言者の主張、②reportは報告・報道、③announceは公表、④confirmは確認した内容、⑤denyは否定の表明です。発言者と事実を混ぜないように、英文の主語と動詞に線を引きます。例えば「新聞が再開の可能性を報じた」と「役所が再開日を確定した」は同じではありません。
