The experiment did not prove that light was the only cause.(光だけが原因だとは実験で証明されなかった)。 The results suggest that more research is needed.(結果は追加研究が必要だと示唆する)。
The sign indicates the nearest exit.(標識は最寄りの出口を示す)。 The chart shows 60 registrations and 48 attendees.(図は登録60人、出席48人を示す)。

Students grew beans in two groups of planting boxes. The first group received water every morning, while the second group received water every other day. After three weeks, plants in the first group were taller on average. Some students said the experiment proved that daily watering was always better.
A school library began sending digital notices rather than printing all announcements. Staff recorded paper use for three months before the change and three months after it. The records showed that the library used fewer sheets for notices after the digital system started. However, total paper use in the school was not measured, and other departments might have printed more paper during the same period. The librarian said the figures suggested that digital notices could reduce printing for the library, but they did not prove that the entire school had reduced its paper consumption. Staff plan to collect broader figures next term.

A community science group published a graph showing water temperatures at three points along a river. The chart showed that the downstream site had the highest reading on the day of measurement. Some volunteers suggested that water from a nearby factory might be affecting the result. The leader explained that the graph alone could not prove this claim. The group had not tested the water near the factory’s outlet and had measured temperatures on only one afternoon. Researchers will take more samples at different times and compare them with other environmental conditions before discussing possible causes.

FAQ|claim
