tickets available for booking。
accessible to wheelchair users。
convenient for families。
suitable for beginners。

Reading:A school library opened a new study room for pupils preparing for examinations. Seats were available for booking through the library website, but the number of spaces was limited. The librarian reminded students that requesting a seat did not guarantee that it had been reserved.

The library wanted the room to be accessible to pupils using wheelchairs. Workers widened the entrance and removed a step near the door. The school also provided digital instructions that could be read aloud by suitable software for students with limited vision.

Evening hours were convenient for pupils attending sports clubs after school. However, some families said that the final bus left too early. Staff then considered changing the timetable so more students could use the room safely.

The library chose furniture suitable for long periods of study rather than chairs designed only for short meetings. After a trial, it planned to evaluate available seats, access, convenience and suitability separately instead of assuming that one improvement would solve every problem.

Reading:A science museum offered several workshops during the summer. Tickets were available on its website from the first of the month. Some activities became full quickly, so visitors were advised to confirm their bookings before traveling.

The museum improved accessibility by providing a ramp, large-print information and audio explanations. Staff explained that a workshop could be available to book but not accessible to everyone if the room could only be reached by stairs.

The organizers also changed some session times. Morning sessions were convenient for families arriving by train, while evening sessions were easier for local workers. The museum therefore kept both choices where enough staff were available.

Finally, teachers reviewed whether the experiments were suitable for children of different ages. They avoided using materials requiring specialized safety training in beginner activities.

Reading:A town renovated a small community center and reviewed transport access. The building had meeting rooms available for local groups, but some residents could not reach it easily because the nearest bus stopped far away.

To improve accessibility, the council considered a path with a gentle slope and better signs. Engineers explained that a room being available for reservation did not mean the whole building was accessible to wheelchair users.

The existing bus timetable was convenient for people visiting in the morning, but workers finishing late in the evening found it difficult to attend classes. The town proposed a trial of one later bus service and planned to ask passengers whether it met their needs.

Staff also checked whether the activity rooms were suitable for different purposes. A large room with tables was useful for art workshops, while a quieter room was preferable for reading groups. The town planned to compare feedback and costs before approving any permanent changes.

Reading:A secondary school offered extra science activities after lessons. Places were available for students who completed the registration form, although the club could accept only twenty people. The organizer warned that a complete form did not necessarily mean that a place had been confirmed.

The school wanted the activities to be accessible to students with different physical needs. It moved the sessions to a ground-floor laboratory and provided written and audio instructions.

The first meeting time was convenient for students who lived nearby, but several others relied on a bus that departed before the activity ended. The school considered an earlier ending time while keeping enough time for experiments.

Teachers also reviewed whether each experiment was suitable for beginners. They chose safe materials and simple methods for the first sessions. Students who had more experience could join additional activities later. The school planned to collect feedback separately about access, timing and the difficulty of each experiment.

Q37. What limited the number of available places?
