英文B|英語の読み聞かせ活動(Q26〜29)

Students at East Valley School wanted to help younger children enjoy English books. Each Friday, volunteers read a short story aloud and then asked the children to discuss what happened. During the first month, 64 children joined at least one session. The school recorded 103 attendances because some children returned every week. The volunteers did not describe 103 as the number of individual participants. After four weeks, 40 children answered a questionnaire. Twenty-nine said they wanted to continue joining, seven were unsure, and four said they preferred reading alone. The club was pleased, but these answers were opinions about the sessions, not results from a reading test. The students also noticed that some younger children could not hear clearly from the back of the room. The volunteers moved the reading chair closer to the middle and reduced background noise. They decided to compare how well children answered simple story questions before and after the changes. The school planned to invite more volunteers next term, but only after checking how many adults would be available to supervise each group.

Q26. How many children joined at least one reading session in the first month?

  1. 40
  2. 64
  3. 103
  4. 29

Q27. Why did the school record 103 attendances?

  1. There were exactly 103 sessions
  2. All children read 103 books
  3. Some children attended more than once
  4. There were 103 different volunteers

Q28. What did 29 questionnaire respondents say?

  1. They passed a reading examination
  2. They had read every book
  3. They disliked all stories
  4. They wanted to continue joining

Q29. Why did volunteers move the reading chair?

  1. Some children at the back could not hear clearly
  2. The chair was broken
  3. The school wanted to cancel the program
  4. The stories were too short
