4つの場所の前置詞を一覧で比較

• between A and B：The shop is between the library and the bank.（二つの目印の間）
• among＋集団：Aya stood among the students.（大勢の人の中）

betweenとamongは「二人か三人か」だけで決めない

学校文法ではbetweenは二者の間、amongは多数の中と習うことが多いですが、betweenは三つ以上の個別の対象を比較する場合にも用いられます。本教材では、図書館と銀行のような二つの明確な目印の間ならbetween、大勢の生徒や葉のような集合の中ならamongという典型例で練習します。

in front ofとin the front of・at the front of

in front of the busなら通常バスの外側の前方を示します。一方、座席の位置としてat the front of the busやin the front of the busならバス内部の前方部分を示すことがあります。ただし場所の捉え方や言い方に重なりがあるため、同じ文脈で両方自然な形を4択の正誤として無理に分けません。

道案内では視点を固定する

The bank is in front of the park.の前方は、話者の見ている方向や目印の向きによって解釈が変わることがあります。道案内では、入口・道路側・建物の裏側・進行方向などの情報も合わせて確認しましょう。
